yes its folly; it's in effect unconstitutional because its its 100% partisan. Senate can now come back and say we'll accept impeachment articles if you go back and treat Republicans fairly with equal number of witnesses. etc.

Also, Dims could have tried to impeach Trump over his policies and their Green New Deal Policy by going directly to the people. They chose impeachment as a better way because they are embarrassed by their goof ball policies

Now, Mr. Trump is abusing the Courts to permanently separate Conservative from Liberal Americans...

The core problem I think you and I fall separate on is timing - I feel like a huge part of the overall failure is that they couldn't wait to get the courts to shoot it down (and I am pretty sure I agree with you about where their ruling would fall) That's why it feels like such an act and bad execution to me; Trump gives real ammunition (I could name a few that made my skin crawl that would probably meet abuse of power to say the least) and he's been put up for impeachment 7 times - instead we got this show just at the time they thought it would do the most damage to 2020

I really do think that this could have been a proper investigation and even made Trump look worse if we weren't voting 6 months before the expected ruling on whether he was exerting privilege or obstructing congress

Well, dims knew the situation going it. So now they must pay the price for ignoring it, which is a botched impeachment. They could have spent the time promoting the Green New Deal as a means to get rid of Trump but that would have been even more embarrassing for them.

it was plenty proper!! there was a phone call to further long standing policy to discourage corruption in Ukraine and many other countries after Biden got caught extorting $50k/ month and laundering it through his son who sat on the most corrupt companies board. Abuse of power is when you imprison opposition as Adams did, when buy land to double size of country like Jefferson did, when you suspend habeaus corpus like lincoln did, when you pack the courts like FDR did, or when you fake Gulf of Tonkin attack to start Vietnam War like LBJ did.

This is not true at all. The House has said it will continue investigating Trump, with regard to the Mueller investigation, and also with regard to the Ukraine scandal, and also with regard to Trump's tax and financial cases.
