A North Carolina sheriff suspended a former deputy who violently slammed a middle school student onto the floor of a school twice after a video emerged of the incident.

The incident at Vance County Middle School, approximately 45 miles North of Raleigh, was reported to district officials Thursday, NBC News reported. School surveillance videos showed the Vance County sheriff’s deputy walking down a hallway with a child dressed in red before suddenly picking up the student and throwing him to the ground multiple times.

That was quite a floor slam. Hard to believe that child didn't suffer from some injuries.
 
"Suspended" is not enough. He should have been fired and cuffed the second they saw the video. I have seen a lot of these videos and I generally give the benefit of doubt to the official, but there is absolutely no defending this guy. He clearly went bat poop on this child.
 
No Starbucks for him.

He clearly went overboard. I'm sure the child was being respectful and cooperative as well!
 
He's going to be:

1] Out of work
2] Liable for civil damages
3] Quite likely facing criminal charges

All for good reason. This is another one of those,

"What the hell was he thinking?"

The obvious answer,

"He wasn't!"

I disagree, the knee jerk defense of suggesting that the kid somehow deserved it should have karmic consequences.

But maybe I should have said I hope the poster gets brutalized by a cop for having a smart mouth.

And if that kid's parent lit that cop on fire I would be fine with that, too.

You're calling for a kid someone loves to be brutalized. Nobody should have to explain to you why this rhetorical excess is wrong.

I just have an issue with people who support the criminals and wrong doers over the police. If you didn't have a "knee jerk" reaction you would realize that I don't think the kid deserved that but I'm also pretty sure he said something that set the officer off. I would hope situations like this could be a learning experience for everyone. Kids need to learn that if you lip off you might get body slammed. Criminals need to learn that if you lip off to the police you might get beat up or worse. I was taught to be respectful to authority figures. I suspect you weren't brought up that way. I also sense that you may have s similar incident in the past that didn't work out so well for you. I hope you have since learned your lesson.

Weak attempt to deflect from what you said. Take responsibility for that.
 
I predict based on past situations like this, the cop's defense will be that the kid called him the "n" word. We'll then have some on the far left justifying what the guy did.
