Federal judge blocks Trump plan to spend $3.6 billion in military funds on border wall

So far, the SCOTUS has sided with Trump, approving a $2.5B military-to-wall use of funds previously denied in the courts.

The thing I dislike about the judiciary is the snail pace of their decision process. Maybe SCOTUS will fast track it.
 
That would be a judge, and not "the El Paso community".

But continuing to prove the left's open borders objective is a real bonus for the GOP and President Trump.

El Paso County and a non-profit community group filed the suit. That’s definitely a local initiative, and thus it is the local community:

"El Paso County, one of the two plaintiffs in the suit, had argued that the new barrier was unwanted by the community and would inflict permanent harm on its reputation as a welcoming, cross-border place.
Kristy Parker, an attorney with the nonprofit group Protect Democracy who represented the plaintiffs, said the decision means the president cannot spend money on the project that wasn’t authorized by Congress.
“The president can’t use the National Emergencies Act to override a congressional appropriations decision,” Parker said. “That specifically means he cannot use funds appropriated for military construction and divert it for use to build border barriers.”

We need a bipartisan approach, and complete immigration reform. This crappy bollard fence and bickering will not fix anything. The fence has already been breached and defeated, and it has barely begun to be built. "Build a wall" was a great rally chant, but it is fundamentally flawed as a national policy. Congress need to be persuaded by Trump. Where’s the great deal maker?

I agree that we should be faithful to our Constitution and supreme law of the land.

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Seawalls that promote the general welfare not landwalls that don't!
 
Temporarily as it works through the courts



Nothing has been budgeted for any new wall construction since Trump has been in office. No new wall has been built nor existing barrier types replaced with any "wall". IMO, I doubt that whatever wall-favorable sounding decision is made, Trump will end-up building any new wall.
