Jonathan Turley '''inundated with threatening messages''' after testimony opposing Trump impeachment | Fox News

Jonathan Turley, the sole Republican witness during the House Judiciary Committee's first public impeachment hearing Wednesday, said he was "inundated with threatening messages" after his testimony, which argued that Democrats do not have enough evidence to support articles of impeachment against President Trump.

"Before I finished my testimony, my home and office were inundated with threatening messages and demands that I be fired from George Washington University for arguing that, while a case for impeachment can be made, it has not been made on this record," Turley wrote in an op-ed for The Hill on Thursday.

The tolerant, open minded Democrats showing us what they are really about. We've seen it over and over. Threats of violence, destroy lives, if they don't get their way. You will think correctly, or be dealt with. Old East Germany, anyone?

Unless he's got recordings, names and faces there's nothing to say the people doing it are from the left. Who knows? They could be coming from some 400 lb guy sitting in his tighty whities, a kfc chicken leg in one hand and a phone in the other. Stuff dreams are made of.

Reich-Wing TEAt Party GOPutins support this behavior from Team Trump.

I see the resident clowns have already showed up to blow snot all over the thread.

Expect more to come.

Interesting, yet no Trump supporters have threatened the Dems 3 witnesses from yesterday, even though one of them insulted Trump's 11 year old son. The deplorable behavior continues to exist primarily within the group of people who want to overturn our elections if they don't like the results. They're the real meddlers.

Yeah, but it's not, and you know it.

Yeah, but it's not, and you know it.

Nope I don't and you don't. Not so narrowed down to the tighty whitey guy, but these "threats" have become a dime a dozen from kids who's parents try to fame them on YouTube to anyone and everyone that strays off a course regardless of political views. Victim cards get played so much every day that the production lines have kicked into working overtime just to keep up.

Sure that's it! Stick with that lame a** story.:lamo

It's just the troll farms.

Or the conservative equivalent.

Well, it certainly looks that way.

And plays to the target audience perfectly.

So I'm calling "pics or it didn't happen".

First, he's 13 not 11.
Second, there was no insult.
But who's counting?

Wait that's actually an option?

Well I have a few ideas for the next set of impeachment hearings.

Democrats = Criminally insane

How do you know that?

Maybe none of them whined about it in a partisan blog.

I am of the mind that no one should be getting death threats over testimony.
But **** this bull****. **** it right in the ass. The Right has been issuing death threats since this began. All the way up to 1600.
So spare me.

This kind of generalization is what's going to keep the country divided for the foreseeable future. Attributing the actions of some to the many only creates these absurd monoliths; what's more accurate to say is you have fringe groups who are on the extreme side of the political spectrum. I don't recall hearing or seeing any hostility directed at Turley; who by the way, I thought provided a fair argument against impeachment. What you're doing is justifying the same type of generalizations leveled against conservatives (all being racists etc).

Fake news

next

No, this isn't "fake news"; it's real news.

And no, let's stick with the thread topic. Turley says that since his testimony, he's received threats. Do you not believe him?

Yeah, they sure as **** don't want a comparison of the death toll of white nationalists in this country compared to the far left.

As much as I believe his claims he didn't vote for Trump...

I missed the threats. It looks like people are saying he should be fired by GWU. I completely disagree with them and think this sort of thing is obnoxious. But I don't see the threats.

I do know the whistleblower's legal team have received death threats, and even the FBI got involved.

I don't think this behavior is acceptable but sadly this is the new America apparently.

Subban still sucks.

Barron Trump is 13, not 11.

How was he insulted? Did someone say he's ugly? Has a disgusting body? Walks funny? Is retarded? What? I can't find an insult anywhere.

Why it's almost as bad as insulting the wife of a political rival, mocking a disabled reporter, making fun of a former POW, or insulting a gold star family....

You weigh 400lbs?
