Trump campaign bans Bloomberg News from events over ‘troubling and wrong’ decision | Fox News

President Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign will no longer issue credentials to Bloomberg News because of its decision to investigate Trump, but not his political opponents, campaign manager Brad Parscale announced Monday.

Bloomberg News announced last week that it wouldn’t investigate its namesake owner, Mike Bloomberg, while he runs for president, or any other Democratic presidential candidate for that matter, but would continue to investigate President Trump.


“The decision by Bloomberg News to formalize preferential reporting policies is troubling and wrong,” Parscale wrote in a statement. "Bloomberg News has declared that they won’t investigate their boss or his Democrat competitors, many of whom are current holders of high office, but will continue critical reporting on President Trump.”

Parscale said he is “accustomed to unfair reporting practices” but Bloomberg News’ decision takes it too far because “most news organizations don’t announce their biases so publicly.”

Bloomberg launched his 2020 campaign last week with a one-minute ad, which was posted on social media. Along with the video, Bloomberg posted a written statement on his campaign website in which he laid out why he was the best candidate to defeat President Trump next November.

“Since they have declared their bias openly, the Trump campaign will no longer credential representatives of Bloomberg News for rallies or other campaign events,” Parscale wrote. “We will determine whether to engage with individual reporters or answer inquiries from Bloomberg News on a case-by-case basis. This will remain the policy of the Trump campaign until Bloomberg News publicly rescinds its decision.”

Actually the reason was for investigating Trump not "reporting". What have any of the Dems done that would make one think they also need to be investigated at this time? CT don't count.....

Bloomberg News has made it an explicit part of their editorial policy that they will not conduct any form of investigative journalism into any Democratic candidates, period. So even if a Democratic candidate did something that might be considered worthy of investigation, Bloomberg News reporters are not to look into it.

No matter how you cut it, stating that your news organization is going to refrain from investigative journalism on purely partisan grounds is not a good look.

Trump dictates editorial policy now? Tells news media who they should investigate? Note the verb. It's not the word 'report'. Investigate. If you don't investigate Trumps opponents you get shut out. Ohyeah, this is healthy for the country.

Basically, Chavez is in charge. If the media does not do as the state demands, they are denied access. Next they'll lose their license. We're a Banana Republic. The state is exercising control of private media.

Certainly it would be. However, if NBC stated openly that they will not conduct any form of investigative journalism into any Democratic politicians and candidates from now on, and only conduct investigations against Republican and independent candidates, I would argue that they are acting more like the Chavistas.

Neither is stating that not investigating the President's opposition gets you shut out. That's not a good look either.
Bloomberg can turn this into a positive. Trump can't. Bad move on his part.

Dictating the actions of "private" media is what Banana Republics are all about. Do what the state wants or be denied access. It's exactly what Chavez did. Exactly. Then, when he got away with that, he revoked their license.

Our free press needs to remain free.

I would only consider it fairly reasonable if he stated that his news organization would not conduct any investigations of any political rivals including Donald Trump. Because one either runs an ostensibly objective news organization or a propaganda organ. You cannot have both.

We're not going fascist. The state is not gonna dictate the actions of the press. We have a free press. We want to keep it that way. No demands by the state.

The NYT, CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC.and ABC all investigate Trump and they all have press passes to Trump rallies. I think the issue is the bias of not investigating Dems but investigating Trump. That is pure propaganda not news.
