London Bridge: Man shot by police after stabbing - BBC News

A number of people are believed to have been injured after a stabbing at London Bridge, police have said.

The Met said one man had been shot by police and it was treating the incident "as though it is terror related".

The force earlier said it had detained a man. London Ambulance Service has declared a "major incident".

The BBC's John McManus, at the scene, said he had seen a group of men in a fight on the bridge. Police then arrived and shots were fired, he said.

What? Tower bridge has towers...hence the name.

Still waiting on Scotland Yard to make an official statement but the video of the shooting indicates that there will be a whole lot of questions to be answered.

That would be the major question I see needing to bee answered. I'm also hearing of a stabbing at a nearby residence so this may be a case of domestic violence being taken to the street.
 
Shot the guy on the ground, after he appeared to be subdued. I'm right now agnostic on providing an opinion besides - as LutherF stated - there's a lot of questions to be answered.

The shooting surely does lead to questions. I've never known of the London coppers to be trigger-happy, so it's an odd wrinkle.

I was responding regarding an article in which a picture of Tower Bridge was attached. I should have watched the footage in this article. My bad.

He may have been wearing a vest like in previous attacks.

It appears so, and the suspect shot is dead

You know, bad as incidents like this are it seems to me that the scale of these kinds of things might be getting lesser. It's almost like these nutjobs are solitary and incompetent. I hope this means there's nothing left but idiot loners, and not that the real threats are getting together on something big.
I mean, if the idea is to kill as many people as possible this asshole would have been better off using his knife to steal a truck.

Yeh honestly these recent 'attacks" have nothing on the days of the IRA

If the victim had been able to defend himself, only the attacker would have gotten hurt. The close proximity of the cop was just luck.

It’s not luck. That entire area is well policed and the Met train rapid response teams for this very thing.

Lucky the attacker didn't pick a place with fewer cops. He still managed to stab 5 people.
