Sondland testimony targets Trump, Pompeo and confirms deal with Ukraine

What is their to panic about? Sondland just restated his closed door testimony that Trump explicitly told him that he wanted nothing from Ukraine and that there would be no quid pro quo.

It's not clear at all that Trump did anything. More witness disagree with Sondland, who btw is of little consequence, since he wasn't even there.

Trump's time is over now, and Pence is directly implicated in this mess now. I may be wrong about the timeline though. Maybe December 2019 is too soon. Maybe January 2020 is more realistic. I suspect at that time Pelosi will become President.

Perhaps the Republicans will end up selecting someone else to be the Vice President before Trump resigns. Romney maybe?

Sonland implied that the investigation into the Biden's was discussed on the phone call. Implied because he testified he wasn't on the call

Sonland : "On July 25, 2019, Presidents Trump and Zelensky had their official call. I was not on the call."

That contradicts the testimony of serveral witnesses that came before him ( including Vindman ) that the transcript was accurate and that they heard nothing illegal on the call

Sonland also repeated prior testimony when he said he didn't know why the aid was being withheld.

The Democrats and the media think his testimony is damning, when he's provided zero evidence to back the claim there was a quid pro quo.

Based on the new "quid pro quo" argument by the Democrats, they lose the bribery argument since the SCOTUS ruled unanimously that arranging meetings and phone calls do not fall under the definition of "official act" and so an exchange for such service can not be a bribe.

That means they are back to Quid pro quo and Sondland just stated for the third time that his instructions from the POTUS was that there would be no quid pro quo.

Right? Sondland's clarrification is that he believed their might be quid pro quo, even though the president explicitly instructed him to avoid any such agreement.

Well, that's nice, Mr. Sondland... on whom did you rely for this determination if not the President's explicit instructions to the contrary? And why, for that matter, do we have text messages between you and embassy staff expressly correcting them on their assumptions of a quid pro quo by assuring them that the President instructed you that there would be no quid pro quo?

He's the best they have and he's a train wreck of contradiction. The worst hit on Trump from this is that he appointed this knucklehead.

Pelosi has an impeachment problem that she didn't think through. just because they can pass an article doesn't mean that he will be charged.
the senate is not going to remove or find him guilty.

Trump will then be proved innocent. that will play horribly on pelosi because then she has to try and defend schiff and his witch hunts
and the fact that she doesn't have her party under control.

So either the testimonies matter or only certain testimonies matter. Only certain testimony matters to the democrats as it evidenced by their refusal to call Republican requested witnesses, and their taking breaks to have "press conferences" to give their spin on the testimony. All this in an open and "fair" hearing. No American in the same situation would think they were being fairly treated.

Nunes tried to redirect this to Hunter Biden getting a big job when his father was VP and some other crap about the Ukrainians trying to "get" Trump. I can't imagine why the Ukrainians wouldn't have liked candidate Trump when he stated that Russia should keep Crimea.

castor just pretty much proved that sondland's statements were speculation.
he has admitted he had no direction of quid pro quo.
no evidence of quid pro quo
no conversations of trial.

he asked the president for his direction and was told no quid pro quo or anything.
sondland also testified that volker's testimony was spot on and 100% accurate and volker
even stated that there was no quid pro quo.

this is an absolute disaster for schiff.
