Most Americans break with Trump on Ukraine, but just 45 percent think he should be removed: poll | TheHill

A wide majority of Americans in a new poll say that President Trump's actions involving Ukraine and former Vice President Joe Biden were "unacceptable," but most do not want him removed from office.

In an NPR-Marist College poll published Tuesday, 70 percent of respondents said that Trump was wrong to solicit a Ukrainian criminal investigation into Biden and his son Hunter Biden, as the former vice president mounts a 2020 presidential bid.

I didn't read the article yet, but I can understand the title might be true. Americans were indoctrinated by the news media that the Ukraine was deserving to be part of the EU. Nothing is farther from the truth. They are a very corrupt government. So corrupt that Crimea voted to leave them and join the corrupt Russians.
 
I think that it's a great idea to allow presidents to extort foreign countries for personal gain. What could possibly go wrong? I wonder which country the next Democratic president should extort.

That's where I stand, added to the fact that Democrats have been abusing their power to get Trump for three years now so they have a lot of nerve impeaching Trump for what they claim is an abuse of power. I have zero sympathies for the Democrats. When this fails they've got several more things up and coming. They have found a person they don't like and they will continue investigating until they find a crime. In the end Trump will wind up being the most squeaky clean president the country has ever had because everything he did in life will be investigated and nothing will come of any of it.

I think an analysis to answer your question could be based on those countries with important raw materials that we consider strategic but who are otherwise corrupt. Nigeria (oil) comes to mind.

The Ukraine used to be corrupt before their last election. The people overwhelmingly voted for the anticorruption candidates. It was poised to be non-corrupt until Trump, Giuliani and Perry tried to corrupt them.

Less than 5% of the population watched Wednesdays hearings ( only 13 million people). No one's paying attention to Schiff's clown show and the Democrats and the MSM know it.

CNN commentator James Baker went on Twitter and literally demanded Americans watch the hearing

Im sorry if some people think these hearings are boring. As American citizens we have a solemn obligation to pay attention to this process no matter what side you’re on. You’re not being asked to storm the beaches at Normandy after all. Suck it up and watch.

Maybe not in Trump Fan Nation, but in civilized America, most Americans work and can't sit around watching television all day. Maybe you and Mr. Baker need a lesson in how this country works.

I came to the same conclusion.

What's interesting is that the straight breakdown of registered voters by Dem, Rep and Ind wasn't all that bad...but the breakdown of the Independents was clearly slanted toward Dems. Fully 68% were Democrats or Democratic leaning Independents. 93% of the Independents were Dem or Dem leaning.

They sampled NO Republican leaning Independents.

So yeah...

I had time to watch both opening statements. An American President orchestrating the systematic shakedown of a foreign country for his future political benefit is mind-numbing.

Let's just get real. You don't like anything Trump does, including his right to ask a new government known to be corrupt to investigate corruption.
I don't think we should be giving billions of dollars of tax funded military aid to the third most corrupt country without their guarantee that they will work hard to clean up corruption in their country. UK was known to be corrupt during the 2016 elections. Trump has the authority and obligation to we, the people, to demand Zelensky, who ran on the platform of NO corruption, to clean it up.

Adam Schiff's " parody by" account of the phone call between Trump and Zelensky is still fresh in the minds of Americans

14 million people each day is NOT two thirds of the population. It's less than 5% per hearing.

That means 95% of the population are NOT watching the hearing.

The Democrats and the MSM are just pissing people off at this point. The American people are NOT that stupid

Quid-pro-quo = bribery, which is specifically listed in the Constitution as an impeachable offense.

Mostly by those that know it was essentially the truth and the testimony has verified that fact. The truth hurts I know. Trump tried to extort Ukraine for political gain. "Deal with it" Isn't that what Mulvaney said?
