House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Sunday she found it a waste of her time to continually respond to Republican remarks on impeachment.

“I really have a real discomfort level of responding to what Republicans say because they are in denial about what has happened in the country,” Pelosi told CBS’s Margaret Brennan on “Face the Nation.” “So if you want to ask me about where we're going on this, I'm happy to respond to that. But I find it a waste of my time and yours to just be talking about what Republicans say.”

When Brennan clarified that she was giving Pelosi an opportunity to respond to Republican critique of the inquiry, Pelosi replied, “I don’t want to respond.”

“Let their arguments stand because there's so much quicksand that I don't even want to have it given any more visibility by my dignifying any of their misrepresentations of what they say,” Pelosi said.

“I say to everybody else, I'm not here to talk about what they say because they're not facing the reality of what is happening to our country. And this is about our democracy that is at risk with this president in the White House,” she added.

The Speaker did eventually address the Republican argument that even if Trump pressured Ukraine to announce an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden and his son to secure U.S. military aid, there was no quid pro quo because the aid was released without such an announcement’

Hey Nancy, you control freak hack. How about you let the interviewer ask whatever questions she wants instead of telling her what she should ask you?

You're supposed to be a GD public servant and you work for us, not the other way around.

She is referring to the same party that tried to disrupt hearings they were already going to be a part of so....

Not relevant here, but thanks for the hijack attempt.

Pelosi stopped caring about her district a long time ago. Her caring and doing anything to help the people who voted for her is inversely proportional to the amount of human feces and used needles that litter her streets.

Sure it is. It explains the frustration with dealing with the trump cult.

She's right. What credible argument do the Republicans have?

While I generally agree that Pelosi is a useless moderate liberal, I understand her frustration when it comes to dealing with a political party that is so inherently braindead stupid like the Republican party.

I've pretty much stopped responding to the gas lighting too, as well as the arguments that seem scientifically calculated to insult people's intelligence.

Modern republicanism, lead by Crooked Donald, is fundamentally dishonest, has no honor and functions at the mentality of the average second grader.

I'm not a big fan of Nancy Pilosi -- but I can't disagree with her here.

If Republicans are taking their lead from Matt Gaetz, Jim Jordan, and Mark Meadows, they are intellectually bankrupt time wasters.

I remember Jordan admitted on TV after the Dems voted on impeachment that nothing the inquiry showed would cause Republicans to vote yes on impeachment. Their minds have been made up since the start and their only objective is to lie about the evidence, distort the findings, deflect to conspiracy theories and process monger about inconsequential matters.

Republican response is no surprise. They are so heavily invested in the Trump brand, that they can't back out now without hurting their reelection chances. So instead, they double down.

IMHO, it will hurt them in the long run.

That it would be a waste of hers or anyone else's time goes without saying.

Pelosi can't debate GOP points so she refuses to engage....losing strategy ....she's losing debate on impeachment and is frustrated.

even the media is starting to see it

Yeah I got no issues with her on this particular sentiment.

I watched that interview and actually made a thread about a couple of Pelosi's comments yesterday morning; Breaking News.
I was disappointed that Margaret Brennan let Pelosi off the hook for a willful dodge of Brennan's questions.

She doesn't owe you anything. Trump's a civil servant who works for the people just as much as she is and you don't insist that he has to answer every question someone asks him. She's not more obliged to obedience than he is. Unless you figure he was crowned at that inauguration ceremony.

You figure she's obliged to answer questions but Trump isn't? She'd be an idiot if she felt she had to "debate GOP points" in the news media and whatever you think of her, she's no idiot.

Can you imagine if she were ever put in the position to be the POTUS?
Let's review:

MARGARET BRENNAN: Well, Republicans argue here--

PRESIDENT QUEEN PELOSI: You know what? If- if we could just talk about what we want to do- I- I really have a real discomfort level of responding to what Republicans say because they are in denial about what has happened in the country. So if you want to ask me about where we're going on this, I'm happy to respond to that. But I find it a waste of my time and yours to just be talking about what Republicans say.

MARGARET BRENNAN: Well, I want to just let you respond, though, to the argument that's being made in messaging by Republicans here. That the grounds--

PRESIDENT QUEEN PELOSI: No I don't want to respond--
Now bring me cake.
