Pelosi suggests whistleblower complaint prompted release of Ukraine aid

I feel so used...[emoji26]

I know both my husband and I have said we thought of it first before the pundits said it, so you know we all do have a point.
Look at the looniness expressed by leftwing punidts on leftwing cable TV... amirite?

Or will you believe the Senate Republicans who "said that happened in part because Sen. Dick Durbin, an Illinois Democrat, threatened to block $5 billion in Pentagon spending for 2020 if the aid wasn’t given to Ukraine?" Source: Timeline: The curious release of military aid to Ukraine

Let's assume you are correct an it was pressure from Durbin. If Durbin had not pressured the administration and the funds had not been spent in FY2019, is that a violation of federal law and impeachable?

That's a mighty bold prediction with a lot of witnesses and testimony still to go in the house...

If there are witnesses who produce evidence of a smoking gun, then it goes to the Senate and we stop playing by Schiff's rules.

I quoted directly from the source above where Durbin said.... Don't assume. I don't answer hypothetical questions on a debate board.

It goes to the senate when Pelosi decides it goes to the senate.

Sometimes I think the "pundits" from both sides get their talking points from forums.
I wish there were royalties granted for some... Maybe forum peeps need to get a patent for expressing their opinions. Lol ;)

Many outstanding opinion posts on DP, that's for sure.

Well, yes, of course. I don't think she's got the lady berries.

If you rob a bank and are caught, and then return the money, be prepared to get laughed at when you say you were going to return the money anyway.

Trump robbed a bank and got caught?

Yeah, I am laughing.

Had congress not passed a CR extending the time for the aid to Ukraine, would the administration have been able to comply with federal law?

Mind you, Pelosi never explains that connection, and only insists that there is one.

And yet, on October 1, “It wasn’t explained to me," Zelensky said "about the withholding of the support from July until Sept. 11. Trump has cited corruption in Ukraine as one of the reasons the U.S. held back the funds."

Source for Zelensky quotes cited above and below:
Ukraine president: Nobody explained to me why US military aid was delayed | Fox News

Who you going to believe? Pelosi, who after day two of the impeachment inquiry farce calls the POTUS an imposer who bribed newly elected president of Ukraine? Or do we side with our president and President Zelensky who "pushed back against allegations that Trump used military aid as leverage during the leaders' July 25 call?"

Where is Pelosi's proof for what she alleged? She said he did? That's it???

Remember this is the same Nancy Pelosi, who on Thursday accused the president of the CRIME bribery but won't admit that the house will get to the point of taking an impeachment vote.

I don't know about you but if I were coup coup Pelosi and had proof

1) The aid was released because the WH got wind of the WB's complaint

and

2) The president committed the crime of bribery

Why delay in taking the impeachment vote?

That IS why Trump suddenly released the money. He got caught shakin a guy down.

Short memory apparently... She made him fold on government shutdown less than a year ago...

Could you clarify your point?

The aid money was released way before the fiscal year-end deadline.
What's the problem now that you are aware of the facts?

Pelosi can't afford to have her Democrats tied up in a protracted Senate hearing. Bad timing.

No worries, Mayor Pete will carry the banner.......

Despite Durbin or the whistleblower findings, the administration violated the Impoundment Control Act by not moving forward with the funding earlier... Had congress not extended the time for the aid in the CR passed in September, the funds would not have been available...

Is that a violation of something serious?

Yes, and a lot of Trump supporters would be better off had they used more of that capability!

Violating the Impoundment Control Act means the aid would not have been sent.. Have any idea of the history of the Impoundment Control Act?

No and im asking about it. Im curious why its a big deal now but it wasnt in 2015 when obama refused to provide the aid that congress approved.

Im not making any kind of accusation im wondering what the differences are between then and now

Wow, that was quite the detour.

Your proof is drawn from where?

:)

The witness hearings. The "recorded" timing of the withholding, the phone call, the whistleblower report and THEN the release of the money.

Uh oh. I know from where he pulled it. Whatever you do, don't touch it. We'll need a clean up on page four. (I just know somebody's gonna step in it).

Clorox Wipes on aisle 13, please.

That's probably because the Obama administration did provide the aid that congress approved...
