Whatever dude
News flash! BOTH parties are moving to the extremes. Did you somehow fail to notice that the hard right has spent decades driving moderates out of the Republican Party, by deriding them as RINOS and primarying anyone who isn't extreme right? Egads.
Hello? McFly? My point is that it is wrong to classify every conservative as a crypto-fascist.

Spare us your biased nonsense. Communism largely belly up 30 years ago, and before then plenty of Democrats spent plenty of time and effort opposing it. (Not to mention that some Republicans openly coddled it, such as Nixon reaching out to China in 1972.)
Since unlike you I actually understand what Communism is, I will be happy to explain exactly what is wrong with Communism -- that is, as soon as you decry the way that the hard right exploits racism, coddles white supremacists, and otherwise marginalizes minorities purely for electoral gain. Lemme help you out:
You start out in 1954 by saying, “N*****, n*****, n*****.” By 1968 you can’t say “n*****”—that hurts you, backfires. So you say stuff like, uh, forced busing, states’ rights, and all that stuff, and you’re getting so abstract. Now, you’re talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you’re talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is, blacks get hurt worse than whites.… “We want to cut this,” is much more abstract than even the busing thing, uh, and a hell of a lot more abstract than “N*****, n*****.”
