Donald Trump's firm to pay £225,000 to Scottish Government to cover legal bills

thanks for admitting that he hasn't stiffed you that is all i needed to know.
he is done really when do you have a date?

ol the impeachment thing? yea he isn't getting removed from office.
he will be found innocent of his accusations.
By his ass kissers, but the impeachment does not work that way.

Damn! Posted too quick. What I meant to write - The Scots DIDN'T SEE this as a frivolous lawsuit filing

Trump was "involved" to the point that he went before the Scottish parliament to make a statement about offshore windpower farms.

Interesting. Good to know. Thank you.

Does any other person think Trump will refuse to pay the legal costs?

He'll probably just lay it with his Charity's money like usual.

there is only one reason that Southern Christians support this crook.

and we all know what it is.

umm why should he have to pay for a valid lawsuit?
those penalties are only for frivolous lawsuit filings.

It's not a penalty. It's the legal expenses for the case. In a civil case, this is normally paid by the loser.

The corporation that owns the resort will pay. (According to the article). This would be a business expense.

i hardly see them enforced.

Hilarious! But he says that to Americans, and they place him in office. Damn, we look like idiots to the rest of the world.

Let me help you: we are idiots.

The American people elected buffoon as our leader. We own him. We do have a chance to redeem ourselves with 2 bites at the apple, the impeachment and the next election. If Trump is still president in Feb 2021, then shame on us.

i hardly see them enforced.

1) They don't make the news. 2) This was a big case - The resort pushed it to their supreme court.

your opinion matters little as well so there we have it.

not really being in site of those windmills can cost property value and views that the resort enjoys.
it is the same reason that people that live in MA do not want them installed in the cape.

Funny. Windmills kinda make me feel proud to be human.

defending your property value is not a frivolous lawsuit.

Your property rights should end at your property line. Lest you trample on your fellow humans right to use their property as they see fit.

Thanks for weighing in Barrister ludin!

So for clarity, this was the LLC that owns the golf resort... not Trump. There's a good chance he wasn't even involved.

They were suing to stop an offshore windfarm just off the coast, which they said would harm the view. This is a common concern expressed in the US with wind farms as well. (There was a big issue, for example, with a proposed windfarm in sight of the 'Kennedy compound'). It's not a scheme or unusual request by the resort. It wasn't a frivolous lawsuit - they just lost, and in a civil case the loser has to pay the expenses.

He testified in person in court, he's quoted in the story, so there's a good chance he was intimately involved... :lamo

1) They don't make the news. 2) This was a big case - The resort pushed it to their supreme court.

At the end of the day, through whatever entities he has set up to hold that LLC interest, and there might be several, Trump owns the LLC so there's little difference between him and his company. He's the boss.

Thanks.

He's a laughing stock, true. But my concern is what does the rest of the world think? Of, Americans? Because after all, it was the American people that put him in office.

The rest of the world doesn't think much of Americans anymore.

I spent all last week on business in London and Paris. I'm so tired of explaining to people that I was too smart to vote for Trump and that was the mistake made by dozens of millions of deplorables.

The man is an international joke.

In London you should've just thrown Boris Johnson in their face and asked them why they repeated us rather than learn from our mistake.

Oh trust me, I did. They have their own foul leaders, just like we do. It's their fault that they didn't learn from our mistake and inserted their own clown in a high office.

like i honestly care about wiki.
your constant changing of the goal posts tells me you have no argument.
if he is that bad he will be voted out in 2020 simple as that.

Now you are making sense, except for Wikipedia. You should care about how bad he really is. But, I agree, he will be removed by the senate or be voted out in 2020. Then we need to repair the damage, which will take a long time.

Yea, but the laws there will not let him get away with it.

Unfortunately, he always gets away with it—his whole life since birth. That’s why he has problems understanding why he can be wrong—it doesn’t compute inside his head. He’s probably a sociopath.

While that may be, at least partially true, keep in mind that he lost a few too, but there is an old Hungarian saying that says that 'the carafe (think of ceramic large picher) is taken to the well till some day it gets broken' point being that no one knows when the breakin day comes but is sure does come.

He’s probably a sociopath.
Quite so.

Have we ever had a politician of any sort who have to pay off so many lawsuits, pay off porn stars and not pay his bills?
