Giuliani Associate Says He Gave Demand for Biden Inquiry to Ukrainians - The New York Times

Not long before the Ukrainian president was inaugurated in May, an associate of Rudolph W. Giuliani’s journeyed to Kiev to deliver a warning to the country’s new leadership, a lawyer for the associate said.

The associate, Lev Parnas, told a representative of the incoming government that it had to announce an investigation into Mr. Trump’s political rival, Joseph R. Biden Jr., and his son, or else Vice President Mike Pence would not attend the swearing-in of the new president, and the United States would freeze aid, the lawyer said.

Damn, this thing is really getting deep and incriminating. It's beginning to seem it's not just Trump that's an extortionist, but many around him. Rick Perry seems to have shook-down Ukraine for an oil deal! And Pence cancelled his trip there in support of the extortion attempt, too. Hot, damn! They're all extortionists, it seems!

A 50-yr oil deal for Perry's two biggest donators, who got the contract despite a bid that was millions less than the competing Ukrainian company... yeah, that was so blatant and obviously illegal that I was gobsmacked.

Some of these guys are going to find themselves as targets for grand juries in the future. This is astounding.

"Astounding." Well said. Aided & abetted by the Republican politicos - who often seem to be in on it (Maria Butina, anyone?). And held in power by a rabid base.

The criminality and corruption is not only astounding, but seems to be fully intrinsic within them. We literally have a criminal government. And not just a criminal government, but a government of criminals.

Watch the GOP create a nonsensical circus atmosphere to disrupt the proceedings later this week. Wanna' bet? They're going to turn into Giuliani's, starting with Jim Jordan! And Graham at his heels ...

Perry: About those Javelin missiles and military funding you need to keep the Russians from annexing your entire country...

Ukrainian Envoy: Yes, yes, we understand we must investigate... we will do it, please, our aid will be restored?

Perry: Maybe. But first, let's talk about that oil and gas contract the Ukraine has up for bid. Meet my friends here, who just happen to have a bid you're going to want to accept.

Some days, it's humiliating to simply be a citizen of America under this administration. :(

I've never seen worse. And that includes Nixon. Nixon was a choirboy, by comparison.

The world can't believe what's going-on, I'm sure. If Trump is one term, that's one thing. If he gets re-elected, our allies will know it wasn't a mistake. It's intentional. And they will react & re-align to no longer having us as a reliable partner.

I can live with a one term Trump. Democracy's a messy thing. **** happens. We should be lucky we have the freedom to take fliers like this. But if we have to go 8, it might become more permanently damaging.

But who has jurisdiction over the administration, if not Congress? Who investigates Barr, if not Congress? It seems to me the Dems are doing the best job they can, at this point. The only way to eradicate this, is to re-claim the White House and expel the garbage. Then, have the reclaimed DOJ prepare criminal charges where appropriate. What a mess!

For quite awhile I've been writing here, that the depth & breadth of the damage & corruption will only be apparent after Trump is out of office, and the mechanisms of government are returned to the Dems. Only then, will we hear from the .gov employees and the other countries that are currently silent as to the actual goings-on.

But while I was saying the above, I'm still astonished at the proliferation of corruption we're seeing unfold before our eyes. I can't even begin to imagine the things we don't know. The ultimate greedy narcissist has surrounded himself with like individuals who are all out for themselves, and established a culture of anything-goes & everything's-for-sale, each out for themselves. It's appalling. Absolutely appalling.

If they accuse somebody else of doing something (with no evidence), it turns out to be something they already did themselves.
