Bolivian President Evo Morales resigns - BBC News

1. When I was in college in the 1950s, I concentrated on studying Bolivia.

2. At that time, it was a laughing stock because presidents came and went at a dizzying rate.

3. Many people were delighted that President Morales brought stability to Bolivia.

4. He also introduced needed reforms.

5. It appears that, sadly, the power bug bit him, and he did not realize that he should have let someone else have a chance to be president.

6. I read that the military "suggested" that he resign. Of course, he understood that their comment was more than a mere "suggestion."

7. He should be commended for resigning and not trying to get his supporters to fight it out. (Look at the mess in Venezuela, for example.)

8. I wish him and his family the best. I have read that he was basically a very good person who truly wanted to help the Bolivian people.

It will be a while until the government situation in Bolivia gets sorted out. Meanwhile, there's foment in several other South American countries. Hopefully, the United States of America will concentrate on helping the people rather than meddling in the politics.

Wishful thinking at best. The US has always been right-wing imperialist in the Americas. Always has and always will be.

I hope you are not correct in your evaluation. I've a suspicion that there are some in the administration who feel that might makes right.

Regards.

Hi! What line is that you refer to? [Ed.: Assume that by putler the poster means President Vladimir Putin. I'm not sure of the significance of the lack of capitalization in 'trump'.]

Regards.
