Graham: Trump administration '''incapable of forming a quid pro quo,''' Ukraine policy '''incoherent''' - CNNPolitics

Sen. Lindsey Graham criticized the*House Democrats' impeachment inquiry*on Wednesday while also issuing a rebuke, and potentially a new talking point, that the Trump administration was too inept to carry out a quid pro quo in regard to Ukraine foreign policy.

"What I can tell you about the Trump policy toward Ukraine: It was incoherent, it depends on who you talk to, they seem to be incapable of forming a quid pro quo," the South Carolina Republican said outside the Senate Judiciary Committee. "So no, I find the whole process to be a sham and I'm not going to legitimize it."

So now Trump is too stupid to be impeached. This nightmare just won't end.

The voters in SC need to jettison Beverly Lesie Graham. He is prime example on why Congress needs term limits.

Hey that defense kept Jr out of cuffs in the Russa probe. might as well try it again.
Of course Rudy just blew it with his latest tweet saying he was acting as defense attorney in his Ukraine exploits.....

The great thing for Lindsey with this new defense, the President is to stupid to effectively commit crimes, is that the President is to stupid to understand that that is what Lindsey is actually implying. It's a good move by him and he managed to find another lane his fellow Republicans overlooked in their search of a coherent defense. Hell, the President might even come out and thank Lindsey for defending him.

This is by and far my favorite trump supporter defense: "My god couldn't have extorted a foreign power to interfere in an American election. He's too stupid!"

Is that the little, gay Sessions-like elf from Will & Grace? Because if that's what you meant, I want to be your friend.

As far as Graham goes, dude is a schizo. It's like every once in a while when he takes his meds he has a moment of clarity and says something that makes sense. Half an hour later he's performing analingus on Trump on national TV again. I think he's still angling to be secretary of the department of interior decorating.

Being "too stupid" make you unfit to be president, which would be impeachment on its own right.

Lyndsey Graham just displayed the corruption of the Republican party. Their quest to gain and maintain power is more important than their sworn duty to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign or domestic....

That all said.... Graham telling us that Trump is too stupid to be president will make for nice airplay in Democratic presidential advertisements. Not that there isn't already plenty of damning to Trump material upon which to draw upon.

I think he's saying no one could believe any promises from the administration because the admin didn't make any sense to begin with. No?

It seemed to work for Don Jr. Being too stupid to be guilty of a crime must be the new Affluence defense.

Did he really? Christ. This is the longest episode of Punk'd ever and we're all on it.

Graham is half right. Trump is too stupid to do a quid pro quo successfully.

I mean, on some level no one should ever believe what Trump says. He's not necessarily the most honest person out there. Though I'm not sure that forms the basis of a good defense.

Yeah, but don't tell me that surprises you. The Republican party sold itself to Trump Inc. and doesn't exist anymore. No one expects them to do the right thing.

More or less, I suppose.

Hey, if ignorance of the law is no defense, then just claim brain death, right?

It surprises me that it has no limits. I would expect that even Republicans have some degree of a moral compass and that there is a breaking point. I thought at some point they would chose America over party. I am a bit a disappointed.

I am always struck by the number of people that have given their lives to ensure American democracy, but Republicans are too much a coward to even risk their senate seats to do the right thing. I think the Republican party owes all Gold Star families a large apology for they way they have lived their lives. They failed to honor the fallen soldier by showing no integrity on their part in return for the live and limbs sacrificed by our soldiers. It really is beyond pathetic. Today's Republican is unworthy of the sacrifice that was made on their behalf.

Graham is evil.

One of his supporters was on TV the other day and couldn't even pronounce it. Not kidding.

Listening to, and worse, believing in Lindsey Graham, is a grave, grave mistake. His integrity is a round zero. He will say anything that advances his biased stances. If you do a compilation of everything he said about impeachment at the time of Bill Clinton, it's 180 degrees, the exact opposite of what he now indignantly says in the case of Trump.

For example, about Clinton, he said that it is not necessary for a president to have committed a crime to be impeached; just, if Congress feels that he morally failed, it's sufficient to impeach and remove him.

No way he will say the same about Trump.

Ignorantia juris non excusat - ignorance of law excuses no one.

So, is he saying that Trump is too incompetent to make promises to the American people, and should be removed immediately via the 25th amendment?

I was thinking the other day.... I'm usually a pretty solid Democratic voter for Congress, but where it comes to Presidential elections, I've been pretty balanced - I've voted in 8 of them so far, 4 times for the Republican nominee (88-96, 04) and 4 times for the Democratic nominee (00, 08-16). After Trump, though, I don't think I could ever vote Republican again - wouldn't much matter to me who the Democratic nominee happened to me.... they'd have to be superior to a party that has sold it's soul twice in a lifetime to such a low-down piece of scum. I've just lost all trust that I once had in the brand. It's gone.

I am looking forward to the PERP walk out of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave Washington DC.:rock
