Impeachment is a political process, not a legal process.
 
Your line: "...in each case of Presidential impeachments the opposing party was the House majority" says everything anyone needs to know about what has gone on in impeachment.
 
Without even reading one name I 99% expect that Ohio's Jim Jordan would be front and center in this slimy study. He and the others disgraced themselves and their offices today.

Is there good reason to believe that the some of committee were prevented from attending?
Or did the folks who did not attend just choose to be elsewhere?

Why was it closed door? Who was in the deposition? Why is the President's council not allowed in a deposition being taken regarding claims against him?

A political conviction is a different standard than a legal conviction. You could impeach Trump for having blonde hair if you had the political might.
