I guess the guy figured the time to enrich himself from both foreign and domestic taxpayer might be closing down soon, with impeachment and all... So, should hurry up and do it!

They used to try to deflect from wrong doing by getting the media focused on silliness like Melania's jacket or Trump's golf trips.

But Ukraine is so serious and the hearings are going so badly for them that now they're throwing everything into the fire -- set Turkey loose on our Kurdish allies last week, the most in-your-face violation of the emoluments clause yet this week. What will happen next week?

What will happen next week? Well maybe this! I was watching CNN and they were saying someone in the know has evidence that an official has been talking to someone behind closed doors about something damaging.

It's really almost unbelievable. Trump is just determined to make the office of the president equivalent to what happens in third world countries, where the President is expected to come into office and line his pockets and those of his friends and supporters. That's how it works.

We know this about Trump but what is so shocking is the willingness of people like Mulvaney to take a wrecking ball to their integrity to support this nonsense. There's no one not a complete moron who believes the WH did an actual vetting, except between various Trump branded properties, and to claim they did is insulting and degrading to Mulvaney. Worse than that is the standard clearly should be for the President to avoid corruption and the appearance of it. Trump just crapped on that idea, and the GOP will go along with that.

That's baseless, and it's a pathetic argument, essentially, "I will handwave an alternative reality into existence to defend the actions of someone in this reality!" Q.E.D.

The constitution actually prohibits emoluments, from foreign or domestic sources, so in two different sections. It's really there, you can look it up. The founders clearly thought this stuff mattered. Now it's no big deal, cause Trump promises (worth nothing) he won't financially benefit, beyond of course the huge PR value of hosting an international summit at a Trump branded property.

Why don't you guys just lower the bar right into the crap filled ditch and be done with it? Just admit that so long as Trump owns the libs, you'll excuse damn near anything?

This is yet another violation of the Emoluments Clause.

This is an international event. The heads of foreign governments will be there, at Trump's property, and Trump will deriving personal income, directly from foreign governments, due to the fact the event is being held at his property.

Don't be ridiculous. Presidents have invited foreign dignitaries to their property often in the past and had them visit at resorts.

Given that the Democratic Party and fascists within the intelligence agencies are acting as spies for Russia, China, N. Korea and Iran, having it at his resort is the best way to protect national security secrets from the Democratic Party and other traitors.

I think people like PoS just don't care if a person abuses their position of authority for some personal benefit. I think it's that simple. It's just not part of their moral calculus.

And this is one of the reasons why we have courts and a police force. It's for people who refuse or simply cannot recognize there are things they cannot do. These people must be forced to be held to account, they don't just willingly agree to perpetuate the system our founding fathers created.
