Seriously. That it's even a point that's brought up is laughable. You'd have to think of the US as a poor negotiating nation to think it wouldn't be able to establish realistic parameters with a NATO ally on preventing the mayhem that's ensued. This all just reeks of leading from behind where there's a rush to fix self created problems.
 
What I like is the flip flop of people on how they view kurds (namely Trump supporters

I am sure that I could go back and the majority of people who are know calling the Kurds terrorists etc, 2 years ago were strong supporters of them. Now they are the devil and communists.

My friends in the service are so pissed off at Trump, they are fuming. My cousin said that his unit were in tears as their Kurdish allies shook their hands and wished them all the best in America, knowing that they are probably going to be slaughtered as soon as the U.S. is gone.

Yes the Kurds are not perfect, but they had our backs. They were loyal to us in almost every single front, including the original Gulf War. They show up for us continually only to be abandoned by us to die. All for the hope that maybe one day the west will honor its promise of giving them their own safe state. This time, they might not be saved. Trump's hastiness has ensured this.

Trump is a royal idiot. For anyone who knows the history of the Kurds from the past 50 years, you'll see that Trump is basically trying to justify why it's OK that they're about to be wholesale slaughtered by Turkey; how it's OK that we are pulling out and abandoning them there while their backs are to the wall; how Trump is doing such a great thing by ordering a rapid, unilateral pullout but without any tenable exit strategy that holds the region in place for a transitional government to happen.

This is a total foreign policy disaster and anyone who supports Trump on this is showing what a total numbskull they are. It is totally unjustifiable. Every decision he has made about the Middle East to date has set us back hugely and is going to create massive security problems for the next incoming government.

But, ok, I'll humor your universe-sized American ego, in the hopes that you'll actually answer a question for once. If you've been "carrying our asses for decades", why stop now? And with an ally - yes, an ally, in both WW2, and more recently - who is attempting to establish a real democracy in a region where real democracy is all too scarce. I'd like to understand how, after your president pledged the opposite, this was an honorable decision...then again, maybe American honor is dead... I dunno, maybe that's just how it looks from the outside. What do you think?

Kurds are not our ally. If there was no ISIS we would not be coming to the Kurds aid.
