US conducts airstrike on weapons storage site as troops pull out of Syria

Yep, we lost.

You're lying when you present those pictures as a U.S. withdrawel.
And no, we didn't lose.

Of course we won, that's why there's still the vibrant democracy of South Vietnam! Oh wait...

So just to make sure we got this straight, installing the long running communist party of Vietnam is winning to you and the reason we sacrificed all those lives?

What date did U.S forces surrender, or sign an armistice? We'll wait for you to research that.

I didn't say they were fake. I said they're being falsely portrayed as "U.S. forces evacuating Vietnam". The fact is, those photos were taken in April 1975. The last U.S. troops left in March 1973.

Those Marines were embassy guards. Every United States embassy in the world has a Marine detachment assigned to it, for security.

mea culpa. I forgot there was a brief delay before the NVA and VC marched into Saigon, meanwhile the troops got outta dodge.

It was an ignominious end to a war in which the loser won every major battle. The helo's being pushed into the water was fitting metaphor for the entire clustermuck.

And no, we didn't lose.

The United States evacuated from and abandoned South Vietnam on April 30, 1975:

At 03:45 on the morning of April 30, Kissinger and Ford ordered [Ambassador] Martin to evacuate only Americans from that point forward. Reluctantly, Martin announced that only Americans were to be flown out, due to worries that the North Vietnamese would soon take the city and the Ford administration's desire to announce the completion of the American evacuation.[60]

Ambassador Martin was ordered by President Ford to board the evacuation helicopter. The call sign of that helicopter was "Lady Ace 09", and the pilot carried direct orders from President Ford for Ambassador Martin to be on board. The pilot, Gerry Berry, had the orders written in grease-pencil on his kneepads. Ambassador Martin's wife, Dorothy, had already been evacuated by previous flights, and left behind her personal suitcase so a South Vietnamese woman might be able to squeeze on board with it.

"Lady Ace 09" from HMM-165 and piloted by Berry, took off at 04:58 – had Martin refused to leave, the Marines had a reserve order to arrest him and carry him away to ensure his safety.[61] The embassy evacuation had flown out 978 Americans and about 1,100 Vietnamese. The Marines who had been securing the embassy followed at dawn, with the last aircraft leaving at 07:53.

Fall of Saigon - Wikipedia

The North Vietnam General Dung took control of the city of Saigon and it was renamed Ho Chi Minh City. Gen. Dung and President Tien of the Republic of Vietnam went to the radio station where Tien stated: "I declare [that] the Saigon government is completely dissolved at all levels."[69] The Vietnam War was over.

We lost.

Now Trump is trying to make history rhyme however badly by losing in Syria. Russia is of course the beneficiary this time. Putin-Trump and Rowers love it. You have no defense of Trump enabling the massive Turkish military operation against our long time and reliable allies the Kurds. The Trump Betrayal.

Yeah, a two year delay. The reason the ARVN were defeated was because The United States cut off their fuel ammo; they almost literally ran out of bullets, to fight with. Also, The United States didn't provide the promised air support.

The Left sees that as a good move, but is losing it's mind because Trump avoided a war with a NATO ally.

Russia looks like the world power to me.

Nice spin. Don't get dizzy...lol

You're an expert at revisionist history.

Wow. That's a lot of work, big guy.

Where is the value of what was blown up, or are you saying the bombing erased every building in the pictures your friends made available to you?

Piece of cake thx anyway.

You want costs you go get 'em.

You'd have to put more effort into it of course than you put into your hit and run posts.

Alas, now you have invented your own quote of me.

You are presto poof making up and quoting a statement I did not make. I have little doubt you think I said that yet I can assure you absolutely I did not say that. You're just being fast and loose in this thread troop. Maybe you might need to tighten up your posts and to slow it down a bit.

My photos are about the evacuation of Saigon on April 29 & 30, 1975. My photos and related posts do not address the "U.S. forces evacuating Vietnam." My photos and posts are about U.S. forces evacuating Vietnamese and almost 1000 Americans from Saigon on April 29 & 30, 1975.

We lost btw.

What date did U.S forces surrender, or sign an armistice? We'll wait for you to research that.

So we didn't win the war like you said, now you're claiming we're still fighting it? How long have you supported the communist party of Vietnam?

Yes, bombing your own facilities is well-planned. I hope you're joking.

It's plan born out desperation. Who knows? They may not have even gotten there in time to prevent what it was they were trying to prevent and airstrikes are not always 100% effective.

When your forces are hauling ass to evacuate a country and you're blowing up your own bases, equipment, ordinance, facilities and so on, as Trump is doing in northern Syria, it means you lost. In Trump's case surrendered voluntarily, at his own initiative, and without necessity.

For this Americans and all of our many allies bailing globally can thank Putin-Trump and their Rowers who are ecstatic.

Pentagon Pushes Back Against Turkish Invasion of Syria

7 Oct 2019
Military.com | By Richard Sisk

An apparently blindsided Defense Department put out a blunt statement Monday opposing Turkey's planned invasion of northeastern Syria despite President Donald Trump's surprise announcement that U.S. troops would withdraw from the region.

The stunning statement, attributed to chief Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman, also suggested that Trump had reversed course on his assurances to the military that he also opposed the Turkish plan.

"The Department of Defense made clear to Turkey -- as did the President -- that we do not endorse a Turkish operation in Northern Syria," Hoffman’s statement read. "The U.S. Armed Forces will not support, or be involved in any such operation."

Defense Secretary Mark Esper and new Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley have repeatedly told their Turkish counterparts that "unilateral action creates risks for Turkey," the statement said.

The Turkish plan to invade and create a “safe zone” along the border -- and punish the mostly-Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces who fought alongside U.S. troops against the Islamic State -- could create chaos resulting in the freeing of thousands of ISIS prisoners now held by the SDF, the statement added.

"We will work with our other NATO allies and Coalition partners to reiterate to Turkey the possible destabilizing consequences of potential actions to Turkey, the region, and beyond," it said.

The more troops US pulls out of here, there and everywhere, the more allies the White House betrays, the less our national security and defense. Putin-Trump & Rowers can expect a blowback on this that will be both serious and significant, sooner or later. Putin-Trump & Rowers can't and won't be permitted to do this either indefinitely or for free. So Putin-Trump & Rowers shouldn't think for a moment they can or will be allowed to continue in their betrayal and destruction of the nation.

Security and advisory staff =/= Combat forces.

An officer would know that.

The ARVN lost.
