Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said Tuesday that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan promised President Trump that he would stay away from Kurdish territory in Syria during a call with both men.

"I was part of a phone call yesterday between President Erdogan and President Trump where President Trump received a commitment from the President of Turkey to stay away from the Kobani area to prevent further escalation in Syria," Graham tweeted.

I read reports yesterday that the Turkey-backed fighters halted their fight when they reached Kobani/Kobane. Kobani being sort of capital of that region; however, if some of the PKK and their "affiliates" moved into Kobani, it'll be very difficult to extract them without civilian casualties. Hence their hesitation on just "running in and shooting around" ...

Difficult situation.

They tried but Iraq's government was steadfast in having the US hold to the US-Iraq Status of Forces Agreement signed by President Bush which said all US forces would be out of Iraq by December 2011. They wanted us out then and it appears that they now want us out once again in 2019. Combine that with what is happening in Syria now and this shaping up to be an even bigger cluster****.
