Fact check: Trump says again that Americans need ID to buy groceries. They still don't

"Don't pay attention to what Dear Leader says when he's obviously and ridiculously wrong!" :lamo

No, don't be so biased that you can't see the forest for the trees,

You are so blinded with hatred, that you have no idea what the message was when he said that do you?

Take the hyperbole out of the message, and what do you have? You NEED ID to do most things in the U.S. "drink, buy cigarettes, drive, purchase a gun, etc, etc" The message is why wouldn't you need an ID for something as important as voting, when you need one for something insignificant as buying cigarettes?

Again, focuse on the message, not the hyperbole.

Because you were already IDed when you registered to vote, and voting doesn't involve making a payment. Its pretty simple really.

I don't use checks, like the majority of Americans, so no I will not see what happens.

You do not need an ID to buy groceries.

It really depends on what groceries you are buying and how you are paying . Milk and eggs no ID required, add in a bottle of wine or some forms of cold medication then ID may be required.

Will you guys reelect him. I like him. He is not full of **** like obama. Obama made good speeches but did fck all.

And still nary a "ID is important. So the "ID van" will be in your neighborhood next week. We have all the resources necessary to make sure you get the ID you need!" drive program from the folks who consider it ao important.

Just like we need a wall, but we don't need any pesky employer enforcement.

That how you can tell a conservative is lying.

Sorry, were you trying to be coherent here? Because if you were....you failed dramatically.

Trump continues his Delusional Rantings Tour with a repeated lie that you need ID to buy groceries.

He has got to be the stupidest leader in the world.

Other lies included statements that you don't need ID to vote anywhere in the country (not true) and that he granted permits to an LNG company that other administrations had refused (Obama issued the permits).

No one does fake news better than Donald.

This is his MO, he smothers you with bull**** and lies, and when you are trying to catch up on the half dozen crims he commits a week ( conservatively) he just commits more...

I was at the Piggly Wiggly buying steak last night with cash and they asked me for my ID.

Then how do we know the person that registered is the same person who is casting the vote.

The message is clear. Don't be obtuse.

It's not my fault that you can't accept responsibility for the latest lie that your president told. :) You will refuse to admit that he lied, won't you?

I agree, but you do need one to buy liquor, that is sometimes sold in a grocery store,

do you want to get bogged down in semantics, or actually listen to the message?

If all you do is focus on hyperbole, you won't go anywhere.

Do you?

You were concerned when I typed license instead of ID but when the President makes a little error, you are quicker to defend slips of the tongue. I am glad though you hold me in higher esteem than a President and expect better. ;)

You need a ID to get a Library card in my town. Voting is pretty important I think a photo ID isn't to much to ask.

In CO, I believe that if you vote at the polls you have to show some form of identification. Though I haven't voted at a polling place in quite some time. CO also mails out the ballots and you can just drop them off instead of actually having to show up and vote in person on a single day.

When Kroger asked me for my ID while buying bottled water I was a little offended. It was for after the hangover so maybe they knew.

Damn it. Now I can't use a gift card!!!

obama tried to imitate martin luther king. But he was a very bad imitator.

Do they still print personal checks...

Yep, believe it or not. On rare occasions we had to wait for some old lady to slowly take a checkbook out of her purse and slowly write a check.

They let you use a check without any form of ID?

Your president said, and I quote, "You know, if you want to go out and buy groceries, you need identification." Unless you are buying alcohol or tobacco this is a blatantly false statement. :)

Will you admit this, or will you continue to deflect from Dear Leader's latest lie? ;)

This isn't the first time Trump has said this in this way though, a blanket statement about needing ID for groceries.

Does he not learn from previous slips or just doesn't care how he comes across?

I messed up and said license earlier instead of ID. I will be more aware not to make the same mistake. What would that say about me, if I just kept repeating and not owning up to my errors?

Would you object if the Federal government were to provide photographic identifications free of charge to all citizens, Deuce?

No, however this does not solve all of the issues with voter ID. GOP efforts have been widespread and insidious. For example, the GOP has been systematically making sure minorities have a harder time getting IDs at all. (closing DMVs in minority neighborhoods, for example)

When Donald Trump was at the Walmart buying groceries and a mattress you know for damn sure they carded him. Everyone knows not to accept a check from our president.

How do they prevent someone voting for a mentally incompetent relative? In Texas we have a couple of weeks of early voting where you can drop by a polling place and vote in usually less than ten minutes.
