Giuliani consulted on Ukraine with imprisoned Paul Manafort via a lawyer

In his quest to rewrite the history of the 2016 election, President Trump’s personal attorney has turned to an unusual source of information: Trump’s imprisoned former campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

Rudolph W. Giuliani in recent months has consulted several times with Manafort through the federal prisoner’s lawyer in pursuit of information about a disputed ledger that would bolster his theory that the real story of 2016 is not Russian interference to elect Trump, but Ukrainian efforts to support Hillary Clinton.

The relationship, which Giuliani acknowledged in an interview this week with The Washington Post, stems from a shared interest in a narrative that undermines the rationale for the special counsel investigation. That inquiry led to Manafort’s imprisonment on tax and financial fraud allegations related to his work in Kiev for the political party of former president Viktor Yanukovych.

Only the best people folks!

I can see how this is concerning.

Two people can't talk with each other though one of them is in prison for personal financial dealings nothing to do with anything? I fail to see a problem here.

Manafort is in prison because he was Trump's campaign manager so the FBI investigated him and found some crimes in his past before he ever worked for Trump. This is what it's come to in politics with the FBI and CIA getting involved.

Oh so you have no problem with collusion now?

Is that sarcasm or should I pretend like that's a good faith description of what's going on?

A guy talking with a lawyer isn't collusion. What's collusion anyway and why is it bad if people talk to each other? Guess it's collusion if it's people you don't like.

This is what passes for ultra-leftist humor these days. You need to lighten up bub prisoners talking to lawyers is a right guaranteed by the US constitution.

I agree, and Giuliani should ask Manafort all about prison. He's going to be going there soon.

Yes, except lawyers can not be conduits for crime. What is described herein is not a lawyer helping his client with legal matters. That is righteous. It sounds more like the lawyer being used as means of communication. Depending upon what is being communicated, that could be corruption. That will get the lawyer dis-barred.

That all said, I think Rudy's days as an attorney are coming to a close.

You think a lot about men in prison do you? Have you seen the movie Papillon with Steve McQueen? The 2017 remake with Charlie Hunnam isn't bad either.

You have inside info on what Rudy's talking to Manafort about? C'mon share with the rest of us the latest CIA and FBI leaks you're getting. Spooks are everywhere and the leftists love 'em.

The OP said Giulliani wanted to know about a disputed black ledger.

You didn't read my statement. Notice the word 'depending'. It is a conditional word. It is recognition that I do not know. I am merely pointing out that 'talking to a lawyer' is about getting legal advice, not having things communicated. That said, lawyers are often used to communicate things because of the presumption of confidentiality. Its a bit of an abuse of the privy, but it happens. IF (notice the capital 'if') that lawyer was communicating something that he knew to be corrupt, he could be dis-barred.

We do see that Rudy has strayed away from the straight and narrow into areas with corruption all around him (hence his associates are getting arrested or impeached). It is reasonable to wonder if he was communicating things he should not have been. Especially given the Ukrainian soup Rudy now finds himself in.... a soup that has already cooked Manafort. Could they be coordinating stories?

Yeah, nothing gets my **** harder than the thought of Trump wearing a nice bright orange prison uniform. Mmm mmm mmm, what a sexy little orange dumpling he'd make.

But I'm getting distracted.

Before they got arrested, Giuliani's Goons, Parnas and Fruhman,

Arrested Giuliani Ukraine Associates Operated Companies Called 'Fraud Guarantee' and 'Mafia Rave'

were taking their one way tickets to Vienna to meet Dmytro Firtash.

Indicted Giuliani associate worked on behalf of Ukrainian oligarch Firtash - Reuters

DOJ: Ex-Manafort Associate Firtash Is Top-Tier Comrade of Russian Mobsters

Not to mention that the Shokin "affadavit" was an attempt to keep Firtash from being extradited to the USA.

How Dmytro Firtash Seized Giuliani’s Biden Attacks to Fight Extradition to the U.S.

But I'm sure all these things are are unrelated right?

Rudy Giuliani's relationship with arrested men is subject of criminal investigation: Sources - ABC News

The black ledger is it then? Then let's suspend all constitutional rights and do away with lawyer client privilege. It's no wonder that no one cares that Chinese government enslaves it people. That's just what the so called progressives in the US want to do to us.

Who or what are you talking about, exactly?

OP started a thread about Rudy visiting Manafort in prison like it was some kind heinous plot t to take over the world. I was just saying a lawyer visiting a prisoner is a completely normal course of events in our Democratic Republic and I see nothing wrong with it. But then I'm not privy to the various CIA and FBI "whistleblower" insider info that OP surely has.

Sure, there's nothing wrong with it...unless it's was for nefarious reasons like Giuliani's were.

You alway assume the worst about people maybe Rudy's just trying to uncover the truth. It's possible.

You do know trump agreed to keep silent on the crackdown on pro-democracy protesters in Hong Kong, right?

Cute how you just ignored every single one of those adjacent stories. Did you even click on any of the links?

At least deflect and tell me Newsweek, Reuters, ABC, NBC and Foreign Policy are all ultra-leftist rags.

If he did he was wrong, screw Trump. Hong Kong needs to stay free even if the NBA loses their shoe franchises in China.

Maybe they're talking about the grandkids and it's nothing. We should find out either way.

Sent from the Matrioshka in the WH Christmas tree.

The new evidence coming in suggests, otherwise. Have you noticed Trump starting to distance himself from Rudi? He seems to be having a hard time admitting that he was his personal lawyer.
