Warren targets Facebook with ad claiming Zuckerberg supports Trump | TheHill

Sen. Elizabeth Warren's presidential campaign is targeting Facebook's policies for political advertisements with a new ad that purposefully makes the false claim that the company and its CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, have endorsed President Trump.

Warren and other critics have blasted Facebook in recent days over its refusal to take down a Trump campaign ad that accuses Democratic candidate Joe Biden of corruption without evidence. Facebook has defended allowing the ad to stay on its platform.

Facebook is trying to take over the informational world. Sign up today & surrender your privacy. I wouldn't go anywhere near F-book despite their ever-present & intrusive popup ads that are encouraging me to enjoy their forbidden fruits.

And what will they do with your personal data? Likely what Warren is accusing Zuckerberg of. We know nothing of his political bent & was might be influencing him. But I'll bet it is $$$$$$$.

BTW, he lives in a multi-B$ mansion, paid for by the same Trump zealots who are flooding my tablets with 'Say no to socialism. Vote here to sign up' ads every night.

Silicon Valley is one of the Left's richest allies and Warren is doing everything she can to burn that bridge completely down.

I've never been on FB, and I never will. From day 1 anyone with a elementary knowledge of the Internet could see all the abuses and privacy concerns that were bound to happen.

Then as years went on finding out what kind of PoS Suckberg is only made me happier that I never signed onto FB.

I hope that she succeeds in that endeavor.

I was communicating with a Cuban dissident. I used a fake name for obvious reasons. Facebook demanded I send them identification which would have identified me to the Castro regime. Facebook does the regime's bidding as far as I'm concerned.

Elizabeth Warren trolls Facebook with 'false' Zuckerberg ad

Ad claims CEO backs Trump – then admits it’s not true – after company admits letting politicians make false statements

Facebook has been taking heat all week for its decision to allow politicians to make false statements in paid advertisements. Now the Democratic senator and presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren is taking the fight to the social media company’s own turf by taking out a series of Facebook ads that make false statements about Facebook and its chief executive, Mark Zuckerberg.

“Breaking news: Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook just endorsed Donald Trump for re-election,” the ads read, above a photograph of a recent Oval Office meeting between the billionaire tech executive and the president.

How is she crazy TheRepublican?

You are crazy to think this tax cut will get airborne and do anything but put my debt in rich people's pockets.

I think her tactic is noble in the dark tank we inhabit.

Look its got us thinking about her.

Now that Warren's pooped out Biden and Sanders, Tulsi may take the lead from her because, she's the real young one, and only one with an astrological rating to compete with Trump and the two boys.

Zuckerberg has stated that fb is not responsible for fact checking paid political ads. Those that believe them need to stay on farcebook. I see them. I laugh.

That kind of comment may be against the rules for posting here. You don't call people crazy, or on drugs, or anything negative like that. But I guess you are a Republican, so it must come to you naturally to be hateful. I'm going to report your post to the mods. Have a lousy day.

Great! Now we're just waiting for the liberals to openly and loudly scream for a boycott of facebook.

Delicious ... :lamo

I hope that is a sarcastic post. Otherwise, that must have been the first post you have read on this site, ever. There are many posts here way worse than that. Of course, they are from leftists mostly, so they probably go largely unnoticed. If the forum rules were enforced strictly, there would not be much of a site left. What can you do?

Personally, I like the comment. It exemplifies a type of individual most people don't encounter, because they don't ask for diverse political opinions from face-but.

I think you can inform people of the rules, but you should only report them and not say it.

I had a moderator tell me once.

I just had someone unfriend me and take down my artwork when I gave my usual response to being called a troll and duly defeated him; "A trolling we will go, a trolling we will go, hi, ho, a merry-o, a trolling we will go. Mountain trolls, bridge trolls, river trolls, trolls, etc."

I was tired of his **** too.

You wouldn't believe the obnoxious posts I allowed myself to keep receiving.

I don't go or comment on face-but much lately.

I used them to polish up my skills for this forum.

This is a great way to highlight the shortcomings of facebooks idiotic policy.

So FB is now responsible for factchecking content on its site? Do we apply this to all the social media sites?

Apparently we are gonna need gov regulations and guidelines to follow.

This sounds like a well though out knee jerk reaction. I cant wait to see how the internet fairness doctrine works out. Its worked so well in the past lol

They can continue their current attitude if they want. I am fine with that. Ads like Warrens will help users become more educated and wary, which they need to learn how to be. Savvy users are always a good thing :)

How would you feel about them pulling her content off their site?

So long as its accompanied by a new policy covering political ads that makes sense, is fair, and is legal. Also that this new policy applies to existing ads as well as new ones.
It would be near impossible to do that without some sort of content review though.

No, I think public figures are fair game. But if all he has to complain about is 'she's crazy' with no substance, it doesn't make for much of a 'debate'.
