Shepard Smith out at Fox News

As a confessed liberal, why would you even consider watching the Trash Channel?
Most of the time to get a preview of what the morons are going to post here....and for the entertainment. During these last few weeks its been interesting to see the splits between the hosts.

I agree, Cavuto is straight shooting and self effacing. After he returned from health issues, he read some messages he had received while he was out. Some were brutal, calling for the worst to happen to him....

That's disgusting.

Cavuto is a good man. He lives very close to one of my family members. She seems him in town a lot with his special needs daughter. He's apparently a really nice man.

I think 2 years is common.

Hopefully his non-compete agreement only extends to outlets that are technically competitors to Fox. That means he won't be able to work at InfoWars, The Conservative Treehouse, Breitbart and anything owned by David Duke.

All that is moot if they can him. He has a right to make a living.

Except they didn't can him.
He agreed to let himself out of his contract and agree to the non-compete embargo, which was baked into his contract from Day One, because that is what networks often do.
Win-win for Rupert, win-win for Barr, win-win for Shep, who clearly will be getting a nice golden parachute so he can enjoy the next two years in a lifestyle to which he has "become accustomed".

By the way, that doesn't mean he can't get involved in projects like indie documentaries. :lamo

Looks like you've got an unhealthy fascination with the word "whore". ;)

BTW, Napolitano is not a guest. He's a paid Fox contributor. Joe DiGenova, on the other hand, is a guest on Fox ... he doesn't get paid for showing up on Fox.

What do you mean? Whores are exactly what they are at Fox.

Or, much like hundreds of Fox News employees who've come and gone since Shep started in 2004, its simply his time to move on. Everything is some grand conspiracy now with people who oppose Trump, much the same as it was during the height of the We Must Fear Putin era. The average TV personality doesn't stay with one company for 15 years. People move on, pursue other interests, etc.

It's incredible, our Attorney General sticking his fat neck into the lives and business of Fox and Shepard Smith. He's a disgusting traitor.

Why in the world would the AG be meeting with Murdoch? It makes no sense.

He drove me out too. And the rest of the smart kids.

Smart kids!?!?!? That was you in the back of the classroom shooting spitballs at me when I was trying to take copious notes for the midterm.

Why in the world would the AG be meeting with Murdoch? It makes no sense.

To complain that Trump wasn't being treated very nicely over at Fox and to get rid of all the hosts that tell the truth.

Might be able to watch at 3 now. Greta would be a good replacement if she'd come back.

I have always tried to catch Smith and Cavuto. Smith was always going to have trouble at 1500 EDT.

Ooops - you changed your affiliation. Did I shame you into it with my post re your watching Fox so-called News?

Fox just wants to improve there ratings. I'm rarely home at 3 but if I am Smith is a never watch, much rather watch Brook B
on CNN Smith & she are both liberal ideologies but she is more interesting & looks wise she's the best CNN has to offer. The only
anchor on Fox as annoying as Smith was Grechen Carlson. I'm sure their ratings went up after she left and the same will occur
with Smith leaving. I don't see him ever rating an anchor role with any other outlet.

Either Donald Trump doesn't know how polls work, or he's just straight up mad that Fox News didn't lie for him.

I understand that Donnie ran off to see Rupert Murdoch.

Your speculation and Shep's comments notwithstanding, we dont know what actually happened.

I changed my “affiliation” shortly after signing up here.....

In typical mob fashion, it seems Barr made Murdoch an offer he couldn't refuse.

Shep was one of the few @ Fox I could actually listen to. None of the cheer-leading and let's push some Trump conspiracy crap.

Barr is only Trump's bag man, doing the stuff that's even too nasty for Twitter. Trump couldn't fire Shep via his Twitter account, so he told Barr to have a talk with his boss's boss.

I can't say I will miss him much. Maybe Shannon Bream could replace him.

Smith was a class act, that's why he can't be part of Fox anymore. Shepard Smith Stepping Down From Fox News
...

He was a class act alright ...

He was almost in tears the following day after Trump won the election. The internet was buzzing with bets on how much it takes for Sheppy's eyeliner to start running.
Not long after that, he cut out wearing eyeliner on Fox.

Nobody gave a **** about his eyeliner for years ... until he acted like a moron.

A news anchor having almost a meltdown on national TV over the guy who won the presidency ... that sure is a class act.
