That's not exactly how I'd phrase it, but... Yes, I really want to know how they will square this circle.

Obama left him no choice.

The Saudis can pay, the Kurds cannot. Trump only sees green.

No wonder we had to move troops out of Syria, had to protect our Saudi buddies and start some new **** with Iran.

If we HAD to be mixed up in this sunni/shi'ite **** over there, which we don't, I'd rather that order be reversed. Iran is far less ****ing nutz than Saudi Arabia.

Yes, but both their governments are theocratic **** holes. I think the Iranian people are more likely to prove friendly to a western style democracy and friendly diplomatic relations. But the Iranian government is a bunch of asshats.

While I would rather they pull all our troops out of the region and let them have a cage match among themselves, I certainly am not going to boo hoo that the US is standing up to the Iranians.

True. But there is a standing governmental structure there in Iran that can eventually be separated from the ruling mullahs. Unlike Saudi Arabia which is a theocratic monarchy. Allying with Saudi is merely about oil and controlling shipping lane rights through the red sea.

“Saudi Arabia pays cash!”

Kurds pay in blood..........

Oh, it's clearly about the oil and shipping. It's why we forgot that they sourced the 9/11 terrorists and deflected to Afghanistan and Iraq.

I think that the Iranian people are also likely more open to changing their government from theocratic authoritative nightmare to something more democratically open as well. But I'm not so sure how they get there. Militant authoritative regimes aren't easy to replace.

Regardless, that's not the way we're going. We'll pour in military might to save Saudi. Maybe Trump will get a nice hotel in SA out of the deal too. But in the end, we're likely to make things worse, as we did in Iraq.

Agreed, Iran doesn’t have a royal family.

So, you'll support another inevitable military boondoggle and resultant quagmire in the making?

I think it might also have to do with Saudis having dirt on ****bag.

I'm not sure of that but I am sure that protecting the corrupt, murderous and repressive medieval monarchy of SA is not worth one drop of American blood.

I thought we were only helping those who supported us in normandy

Iranians have had the Green Movement. It was put down but it does mean they have the will. Couldn't imagine how bloody and morbidly such a movement would be put down in Saudi Arabia with their public beheadings and such.

As I indicated I would rather they pull out completely, but to the extent we are going to have a boondoggle, I would rather it be against an actual enemy as opposed to being an attack on our allies in support of terrorists as the democrats want to see in Syria.
