Trump loses appeal to stop House subpoena of his tax documents

Trump and the Trump organization has been audited several times by the IRS. What makes you think all of a sudden there is going to be something turn up?

Trump has never been the president before.

More to the point, the obsession over the returns confirms the gullible don't have a clue what these tax returns show.

The fools in the New Democratic Party keep opening more lids on Pandora's Box.

The reign of terror that will come back to haunt them will be catastrophic.

Then why worry and fight it so much I wonder? :thinking

Especially after having promised to his base he would then reneged.

So will we have the tax returns in a matter of hours?
Don't hold your breath.
If Trump's accountants comply with the order before there is an appeal, the matter becomes moot.

Remember, the only reason they haven't been turned over already is because there was a stay after the last decision, awaiting this ruling.

The operative question that I have is, why are you and Trump supporters so against his accountants turning over these documents to Congress? If there is nothing damning, there should be no problem. If there is flagrant criminal violations or evidence that he's under control of a foreign government, don't you want that to be known?

Don't hold your breath.

Especially with that seven day stay.

And I see the one vote came from a Trump chosen judge. So much for justice coming first.

I thought there was a seven day stay issued with this ruling?

from the news story
Appeals court rejects Trump appeal of subpoena for financial documents

The ruling does not mean that Trump’s financial records will immediately be released to the committee, which had issued its subpoena on April 15.

The appeals panel ordered that the effect of the ruling be put on hold until seven days after the disposition of a petition for a rehearing of the case by either the same panel or by the entire D.C. Circuit judges.

He’s having a really bad couple of weeks. Couldn’t happen to a better “stable genius.”
Every few months he tends to have a set of really bad weeks.

When you're as nutty as a fruitcake, that tends to be a pattern.

I'm gonna laugh like crazy when it's eventually uncovered that Donald Trump paid for a bunch of abortions and business expensed them. And has been writing off living expenses for his mistresses for years.

You'll find the people that approve of that type of behavior in church on every Sunday.

Of all the campaign promises Trump's broken, this is the last one he'll ever deliver on.

It is! Congress never issued a subpoena for my tax records. Why is Trump being singled out?

I blame Soros! He must have bought off the 2 judges who Trump did not appoint.

Because Trump is The Chosen One.

Trump supporters have been remarkably upfront on this point. They don’t want Democrats to see his tax returns because they don’t want them to have bad information they can use against him. Trump supporters haven’t actually done anything to disguise the fact that they know full well his tax returns almost certainly have something really ugly in them.

And the other two votes came from Dem appointed judges. Hell, one of them even accused Trump of "autocracy". So much for justice coming first.

I gave up trying to figure out why Trump does the things he does. He's crazy like a fox and wise like a finch. I can think of tons of damning reasons for him to hide his taxes. On the other hand, imagine what would happen if they are actually completely innocent.

There won’t be leaks. This isn’t like leaking a page of dialogue from a Game of Thrones episode.

Still has the SCOTUS, but that may not pan out.

Can't wait for the leaks, which will put the extremely limited number of people who will be allowed access to them to be jailed.
Rocket scientist Trump supports don't understand that the Democrats won't need to leak.

This is the request to Mazars, who are Trump's auditors, and they are a private firm, which changes everything in the eyes of the law.

See, the W&M committee request to the IRS makes use of a tax law that probably subject the records to confidentiality even in the Congress, and so members could get in trouble for leaks.

However, any financial records in the possession of private firms would not fall under that protection, as they are not IRS records. Meaning, the Oversight committee could hold a vote to make any records they obtained via subpoena public, and then send them to the House floor for a full resolution, where it would undoubtedly pass.

So, there is no need for leaks. The committees have the legal right to hold a vote to make these particular records public.

That's because they are Christians. And Christians believe in forgiveness. But trump kind of "conservative" Christians believe only in forgiveness of their own. Everyone else goes to hell.

"Presidential harassment." Trump supporters all of a sudden respect the presidency. Until they don't again.

Yes how dare there be transparency. We need our president, like trump, bought and paid for by foreign countries kept under wraps. That’s how you want it.

Judge Rao implicitly said that the House’s efforts were clearly looking for illegality and therefore those efforts should be done through an impeachment inquiry.

“Impeachment provides the exclusive method for Congress to investigate actions of illegal conduct by impeachable officials, particularly with the aid of compulsory process,” she wrote.

What kind of a businessman goes to these lengths to keep ANYONE from seeing their success?
