Senior US official says invasion endangers allies in fight against terror as Turkish president hits back at critics of operation

The US has set down red lines for the Turkish offensive into Syria that would trigger sanctions against Ankara, including “ethnic cleansing” and indiscriminate fire directed at civilians.

On Thursday, a senior US official also condemned the Turkish invasion on Thursday, saying “it endangers our allies in the fight against terror ... and then thirdly, it creates tremendous insecurity for the entire region”.

Thanks, Donald. This is the result of a poorly thought out scheme Trump has with Erdogan. The blood of the Kurds is on his hands. Trump is the war criminal, the instigator-in-chief.

The Kurds are not terrorists, they helped defeat the terrorists. It is Turkey stopping them from returning home.

They're not terrorists, so the the Democratic Party either we must let them all die or bring them all here so to further reduce government assistance to American poor and elderly and take a million or two American jobs by being willing to work for less.

The Kurds are spread out in a number of countries around Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Iran, etc. The new national boundaries in the Middle East after WW1 failed to recognize the Kurdish racial identity & establish a separate Kurdistan for them. The Turks hate the Kurds because they want part of Turkey as part of the new Kurdistan.

Anyone, any nation, any religion, and minority President BoneSpur disparages publicly is immediately determined to be terrorists by Trump enablers, the GOP and QAnon.

We weren't working with terrorists until Trump sold the Kurds out overnight to Erdogan. Now Trump enablers, the GOP, and QAnon are calling the Kurds terrorists. Doing so makes it easier for Trump people to accept and support genocide.

Trump people or not, there has been enough blowback from far too many people who know this stuff that I don't see this just fading away. It was a bad decision in how it was done.

Absolutely, it was. There are ways to leave and ways not to leave. Trump impulsively and hugely picked the way not to leave option with included stabbing Kurds in the back. It was a bad decision in how it was done.

It's a garbage post, apparently sent for the sole purpose of seeing oneself in print.

The 4 million he blathers about are not from the region that Erdogan now wants to establish as a buffer. Those from that region that were actually enabled in returning home, owe it to the Kurds that defeated the IS bataillons that caused those to flee that weren't slaughtered. Those being largely Kurds anyway and having lived in the area for generations.

No idea whether that poster is just here for the sake of trolling, that he's utterly clueless on what he spouts on about is however apparent in practically any sub-forum he enters here.
