The NYT's source is an anonymous white house insider. If they really went out and got estimates on these things, they wouldn't have needed an anonymous WH insider at a politically opportune time. Whoever gave them the estimate would have ratted them out long before now. Where is the Army Corps report? ICE's? Any shred of a document showing me that they went out and actually got estimates. Show me that, and I will believe this story. Otherwise, just more nonsense.

Not really. He's just the oldest case ever for arrested development. He's mentally a preteen. His answers make complete sense if you realize that's how preteen's would answer questions and try to problem-solve.

But if you take the unnamed nonsense at it's word, it tells us that there were a lot of people around him who were eager to tell him why he couldn't do things, but nobody around him to tell him what he could do that would be effective. In the end, it took Trump, himself, to figure out how to deal with the flood of asylum seekers...and now he has cut the flood by 60% and reducing it even more.

So...y'all go ahead with your nonsense. Trump will go ahead and deal with the situation.

That's "substance".

When you find a copy of that reporting showing the cost estimate for the alligator pits, let me know. In the mean time, the Trump Administration, such as it is, has produced the video of Biden bragging that he used the threat of withdrawing US aid to get a prosecutor fired which is prima facie evidence that Trump had a basis to ask the Ukrainians to look into it. Extortion by an officer of the US is a federal offense under 18 US Code 41 § 872, punishable by up to three years in prison. Trump simply asked the Ukrainians to investigate the crime Biden had publicly admitted to.

Just imagine what it must like working for this guy. I bet the first thing someone does when they walk into Oval office or the conference room and hear something like that is cast furtive glances around towards any other people also in the room searching for any visual cue that will tell him or her that the President is actually serious about what he just proposed or just spouting some some nonsensical rant about something that got his dander up.

Maybe. Personally I just wouldn't do anything assuming he will be onto something else in a day or two. If asked, "Why yes, sir. I am waiting to hear back from the National Zoo about how much an alligator goes for these days and whether or not we can get a bulk rate. They said crocodiles would be cheaper, but we would have to import those so that was a non-starter. Make America GatorLand Again!!!!!"
 
as a draft dodger himself, Trump would have to order other people to shot them. he certainly didn't learn any of that while he was at Studio 54.
