Trump Was Repeatedly Warned That Ukraine Conspiracy Theory Was ‘Completely Debunked’
Published Sept. 29, 2019. Updated Sept. 30, 2019, 7:55 a.m. ET

WASHINGTON — President Trump was repeatedly warned by his own staff that the Ukraine conspiracy theory that he and his lawyer were pursuing was “completely debunked” long before the president pressed Ukraine this summer to investigate his Democratic rivals, a former top adviser said on Sunday.

Thomas P. Bossert, who served as Mr. Trump’s first homeland security adviser, said he told the president there was no basis to the theory that Ukraine, not Russia, intervened in the 2016 election and did so on behalf of the Democrats. Speaking out for the first time, Mr. Bossert said he was “deeply disturbed” that Mr. Trump nonetheless tried to get Ukraine’s president to produce damaging information about Democrats.

Whether it is just Trump’s penchants to tell lies, or mental illness, or his inability to separate facts from convenient fiction but it’s becoming increasingly clear that he isn’t capable of holding the office that he has. Even his staff is disturbed.

This is abnormally behavior for an American president and he not only is an embarrassment but a security risk. This guy has the launch codes.

US Intelligence had attributed the DNC hack to Russia before they even told the FBI, and before the FBI even knocked at the DNC (prior to the server was even a thing!). It's a hoax of the dumbest kind. We have at least two forum members still pushing it too, despite being shown the facts and how easily their conspiracy theory nonsense is dis-proven. I hope they address all the right wing CT stuff during the widely televised House impeachment inquiry sessions. Conspiracy theories were always a fringe/extremists thing. Outright lying was always a fringe/extreme thing on the news. Now its the norm apparently...something's gotta give.

This Bossert?

In July 2017, a British hacker spear-phished Bossert into thinking he was Jared Kushner by sending an email to Bossert. The hacker also received Bossert's private email address without asking for it.

I'm sure there's a very good reason this talking potato head is a "former".

Ukraine did help Clinton and the DNC. If Trump was advised that the stuff he had Giuliani looking into had been thoroughly debunked he was getting bad advice - Ukrainian efforts to sabotage Trump backfire - POLITICO

......an ever expanding club!

I think, in this case, it is better to be outside the tent pissing in, than inside pissing out. See Kevin McCarthy, Rudy Giuliani, Stephen Miller, Lindsay Graham..........

So, do you have any other weapon in your arsenal besides character assassination, misdirection and saying everyone is biased and unreliable?

It's like the 10th post in a row. You seem desperate. Need a friend?

Most people think a political overthrow is a conspiracy theories until it actually happens. That exactly want the perpetrators want you to think isnt it?

Oh brother. We have three now apparently.

The Ukrainians point out that Manafort was working for the Russians, which he was and that Russia was meddling in the elections, which they were. The Ukrainians did not hack the DNC for Hillarys belefit and there is no evidence that they conspired with her campaign. Telling the truth isn't a crime, at least in some circles.

Well you see, that was different. It was Hillary, and therefore it was all within good reason. Just like when challenged by the Ukrainian President for demanding the immediate removal of the Ukrainian Prosecutor or no aid, Biden bragged that he said "call the President (Obama)." That was not a quid pro quo, because "everybody (outside Ukraine) wanted the Prosecutor's removal."

What's good for the goose is good for the gander, unless you don't agree with the gander and want to get rid if him/her. Then it's "what was good for the goose is justified as a good thing, but the gander is BAD, so it cannot be the same thing."

Trump was a front-man for birtherism, what did we expect? His supporters love conspiracy theories. You can make an infinite number of them up and tailor them to claim whatever they want.
Perfect for a base that supports a man who told them he sells a fantasy, what people want to believe, and without shame he'll use fantasy to achieve that.

Look at them in this thread. They really don't understand the harm that anti-reason can do at a national level...and chances are decent people will keep things afloat, while they spray graffiti and piss on the streets...the real dependent class right there. Depending on those who aren't corrupt to keep the ship sailing.

Would those be the same "US Intelligence" men who brought us Curveball and WMD? :lamo

So do you believe Pence is behind this all?

Don't worry about the 'gold codes' they're perfectly safe with Trump. Those codes change every day and have to be committed to memory. It would be a problem of course if he wrote them down on a piece of paper or gave them to Stephen Miller in case he needed them in a hurry. But other than writing them down on the inside of his wrist with a sharpie pen, he won't recall what they are day to day.

That's 4 people pushing the conspiracy theory or defending it...I love it.

What is "that"?

Which conspiracy? That the Bidens were feathering their nest or that Curveball was legit?

Never heard of a theory that said Ukraine was responsible for the hack on the DNC. It makes no logical sense. The article doesn't even reference what the theory was and who has pushed it.

There IS a theory though, based upon the fact that it was Ukraine who released the information on Manafort, that this was done under pressure from the Obama Admin. it would probably be part of the current Trump Admin inquiry as to the origin of the 'Trump conspired with Russia' conspiracy theory that was so popular amongst certain circles up until a few months ago. That is what Trump was referencing to in the first part of the transcript.
The 2nd part about Biden has to do with Biden having been the pointman for the Obama Admin policy toward Ukraine and whether that government responded with favors ect.

When the gander is continually pooping where you sleep and eat, he's gotta go.

And it's growing.
They come out of the woodwork.
Right wing media has helped an entire group of people, some 30% of the population it seems, welcome, embrace, and defend conspiracy theories, in spite of evidence/reality. It's dangerous, and sad.

We should require physicians to treat them only with wild, unfounded and um-evidenced medical treatments until they agree that maybe that's a dangerous thing? No, we can't do stuff like that, because it's bad...
They are the dependent class of our society, depending on honest people, people who care about all Americans, to carry them while they trash **** up and throw wrenches into the gears. They could change that, they choose not to.

Mob bosses gonna mob boss.

"Curveball" was debunked by the USIC who warned against him.
It was the ****ed up politicians and pro-war crowd who lauded "Curveball" because he told them what they wanted to hear.

He shouldn't be pissing at all.

shrug...

If he can't handle observations about his public information, he shouldn't be mouthing off on TV.

If you can't handle reality, you shouldn't be on DP.
