Pelosi Warns of ‘New Stage’ of Inquiry if Trump Blocks Whistle-Blower Complaint

It would matter very little for anyone to deny being a simpleton. That is earned, not necessarily valid when self ordained. It would best for us if we didn't assume the other to be a simpleton.
I may have jumped a bit hard on your self description. In fact, I agree with you on one of your points and I am not a liberal. Maybe its a yin/yang thing.
If I was out of line, I am sorry. I just see so many venal post about our President, I just sometimes may be too defensive. I understand some don't like the way President Trump does things, but at the end of the day, he is after all our President. Vote him out in 2020, but God guide him until or maybe after then.

CP

Thanks for your balanced post. OK, chances are that you're not a simpleton; good.

Look, I initially tried to give Trump the benefit of the doubt. It is fair to say, though, that he squandered my good will. But I don't question that he is the President of the United States. Elections have consequences, and he was elected. Sure, there are doubts about Russian interference, and I read an interesting article about how much influence it theoretically had in the three states that tilted the balance in the Electoral College. If the conclusion of this article is sound, then something is to be said about the legitimacy of his win, but it is speculative, and I'm not entirely convinced that his campaign actually orchestrated it, so... OK, I do acknowledge that he is the dully elected POTUS.

It doesn't mean I have to like him, and it doesn't mean he is above criticism. Just look at how much Obama was criticized and how many people tried to imply that he wasn't a legitimate president, with absurd conspiracy theories like the birtherism movement, fostered by... one Donald J. Trump.

I see a few positive things in Donald Trump. Geopolitically speaking, I see China as the biggest threat to the United States and to the world order, and misguided as the tariffs might be, Trump is actually countering their advance. Also, Trump has NOT been hawkish, and has not plunged us into huge wars. Sometimes I think Hillary Clinton, had she won, would be more dangerous than Trump, regarding WWIII. I hope he doesn't prove me wrong by attacking Iran, but it doesn't look like he will. Good.

I appreciate the fact that he is against illegal immigration, but I certainly dislike how he goes about it (I don't think that a wall is the solution), and also dislike the why... nativism, racism, and xenophobia are not the most productive positions out there... I'm for stopping illegal immigration of all kinds (that includes cute white Eastern European women who overstay visas and work as models), but not for demonizing brown people.

What I dislike most about Trump is his fascination with dictators and his destructive approach to our historical ties with our allies. I also dislike his erratic cabinet made in some cases of grossly incompetent people, and the huge turnover that has happened, in a time when I'd love to see stability and consistency. I also fear that his excessive tax cuts for the rich will eventually derail the economy.

All things considered, yes, I acknowledge that he is the POTUS, but I also very much want to see him defeated in 2020. I much favor removing him thanks to an electoral defeat, than through impeachment (which won't remove him, by the way).

Not if it has no merit. And especially when it has no merit and would violate what should be sacred confidentiality between national leaders.

Trump's appointed IC IG, confirmed by the GOP Senate, determined it was urgent and credible. How are you assuming it has no merit?

Introducing articles of impeachment is what the Constitution requires. Everything is on schedule.

I surely hope so! I am so fatigued of the phony saber rattling from the Democrats! Bring it on!!!!

Impeach and plan on becoming a party second to the Libertarian or Green party. Which do you think you will join?

Well, the law did say that the DNI must report to the Congressional Intelligence Committees, but fortunately for the DNI you single handedly nullified that law, so I guess it's all good now.

By the way, while you're at it, could you also nullify any laws preventing me from breaking storefront windows and stealing the tv's? I'd really like a Sony 65" LED. Thanks.

Why only 65" ? Why stop at 65? Can't carry anything bigger? Hang on a sec, I'll help you! :lamo
What else ain't nailed down in this popcorn stand?

Impeachment will lead to Trump resigning, being convicted, or leaving the White House. It's over.

What national leader would ever trust President Trump with any sensitive information ever again if President Trump turned over the transcript of a private meeting that Schiff is demanding? Schiff is too stupid and incompetent to be on the Intelligence Committee, much less head it.

No one is talking to Trump instead its the DNI who the House Intelligence Committee is talking too since he is the one that broke a simply yet important law. It is out of Trumps hands at this point. And if Trump insists on obstructing the law then he deserves to be impeached for being stupid.

News flash. President Trump pressured nobody. The Ukranians say so. But if he had, it does not break the law. Consider the pressure President Trump put on Mexico to get them to help with our illegal immigration crisis. Nothing illegal whatsoever about it and it would have been legal if conducted in private. Unless there is quid pro quo of some kind, our President can pressure anybody he wants. And certainly when the one who is allegedly pressured say the event never happened, and there is zero evidence of any quid pro quo, it is not an issue at all. Unless small minded, hateful people insist on it being an issue which seems to be the case here.

LOL, as Trump and Rudy were pressuring Ukraine, Trump was blocking the release of $250 million in aid appropriated by Congress. What quid pro quo? I can't see one, can you? And it's a big old coinky dink that the money got released the day after this whistleblower complaint was made public!

My goodness, Trump could be standing in the road with a literal smoking gun and dead body at his feet, and you guys would pretend there's nothing there.

Trump has a mandate to break the law? News to me.

Trump? Do you mean President Trump? No. He doesn't have a MANDATE to break the law, unless it wasn't on Florida ballots, I'm not sure where that mandate would originate. On the other hand, if you are intimating that our President has broken a law, which one was it? Why are you the only one that has proof this inescapable truth? Are you the whistleblower or just a blind parrot of the left?

He is instructing the IG to withhold information due Congress. Like when he sent Independent Counsel thugs to sit behind Lewandowski to intimidate him. Remember?

As I read it I find the "whistleblower" does have a remedy if the report is not submitted to Congress.

Should we hold our breath for that?

Right, I've seen that and the IG references that in one of his letters - the second.

Inspector General of the Intelligence Community Letters to Congressional Intelligence Committees - Lawfare

The problem is the DNI refuses to (more properly, has been ordered not to) offer guidance to the whistleblower on how to contact Congress directly. It's that part in sec. II.

At some point the person filing this complaint has to make a decision, but if they do it directly without guidance, they might be opening themselves up to criminal prosecution for mishandling classified information. I doubt if the complaint can be buried at this point, but we'll see.

Sorry, that is so very wrong, and further, you know you're posturing.

I will say the silliness that has gripped so many gullible Democrats is about to come to a hard stop. I am curious, maybe you can tell me. After the President Trump landslide in 2020,what sort of candidate will the Dem's be running? You have gone as far left as you can go, without breathing life into the corpse of chairman Mao, will you perhaps put forward a real American ideal's candidate, or become even more irrelevant?

Impeachment effort targeting President Trump defeated in House

Democratic-controlled House kills articles of impeachment against Trump

Christal Hayes, USA TODAY Published 3:31 p.m. ET July 17, 2019 | Updated 8:02 p.m. ET July 17, 2019

snippets from article...

WASHINGTON – The House voted to kill a measure seeking to impeach President Donald Trump – the first vote on such a measure since Democrats took the majority and since the release of former special counsel Robert Mueller's report on Russian interference in the 2016 election.

The 332-95 vote included a majority of Democrats voting along with Republicans to kill the measure – a win for conservatives and the president, who touted the effort's failure on Twitter. But the 95 Democrats who voted against casting aside the measure shows there has been an increase in support for taking up the question.

The articles, included in a resolution by Rep. Al Green, D-Texas, were filed Tuesday evening and declare that Trump is "unfit to be president, unfit to represent the American values of decency and morality, respectability and civility, honesty and propriety, reputability and integrity."

The vote forced Democrats to take on impeachment and go on the record on whether they support taking it up in the House after months of speculation over how Democrats would respond to the findings outlined in Mueller's report.

Has there been another Articles of Impeachment vote that was passed in The House?

Has there been a current Articles of Impeachment that has been voted on and has passed The House in order to set in motion an actual Impeach Process of Trump?

I'm not sure. I have heard different Dem's describe it in several different ways. On the other hand, don't tell me they have stopped looking into UFO's? Or was that put on the back burner till they can overthrow the duly elected President?

Nah, they're still looking into our Unbelievably Fascistic Overlord.

I was afraid you might come back that way! I gather you don't know a bunch about Fascist's. They lied, and cheated their way into governing a conflicted majority(maybe wanton?) seat in the Weimar Government. They didn't have even have half the nation's vote! They didn't get power because they were right, it was more about selling a huge lie to a country. You've seen the Democrats. Now, go look up the real fascist and please note the similarities.

Are you Ashton Kutcher? Cause I feel like you're trying to punk me with talk about who got less than half a nation's vote, and who sold a huge lie to our country.

Do you want to touch pee-pees with me? I'm not gay, but I like touching pee-pees when I'm stuffing a girl's asshole with another guy. And then we can both get **** all over our pee-pees and it' really hot, don't you think so? don't you like getting hot **** all over your pee-pee?

Wow! My first reply from Penthouse forum! It's a bit late. When I was a younger fellow, this might have been a good read. I'm sorry to say that now, this sort of drivel is wasted on me. It is clear you are in your formative years and I hear there is a thing called on line hookup nowadays. I would suggest you airbrush out your pimples and pimple scars, post a picture and throw the dice.

No. Are you Punxsutawney Phil? You really don't know history, do you? I kinda thought that when I saw your previous post.
Get yourself shed of the dirty underground and you may yet make it. I'm not promising you anything. You have to want to get better. Good luck!
