Probably before that - that whole revolution thing may have helped a little for awhile, but not a lot.

Then again people say some people are real dim-wits, twits, 1/2-wits, nit-wits, etc.

I seriously doubt politics had any play here, so the commentary is disingenuous in my opinion, as it would be no matter political affiliation, try it, it will set you Free

You appear to have missed the point.

When a supporter/partisan for "Party A" does something so disreputable that only someone with a seriously bent brain could do it, then, as far as the other supporters/partisans of "Party A" are concerned since they haven't actually been convicted of a crime that means that they are **I*N*N*O*C*E*N*T** and that prosecution of this **I*N*N*O*C*E*N*T** person is nothing less than a **W*I*T*C*H** **H*U*N*T** that is based on nothing but **F*A*K*E** **N*E*W*S**.

And, when there is even a rumour that someone who is remotely connected to a supporter/partisan for "Party A" is even being hinted at as possibly having done something even slightly irregular, then, as far as the supporters/partisans of "Party B" are concerned they only did it because they are are (secretly if not openly) a supporter/partisan of "Party A" and every other supporter/partisan of "Party A" is **G*U*I*L*T*Y** of the same thing because they are supporters/partisans of "Party A" and 'everyone knows' that ALL the supporters/partisans of "Party A" are 'like that'.

(Feel free to reverse "Party A" and "Party B" in the above.)
