A Georgia man shot and killed 3 masked teens as they tried to rob him at his home, police say - CNN

A Georgia homeowner shot and killed three teens as they approached his residence with their faces covered, authorities said. The masked teens -- a 15-year-old and two 16-year-olds -- approached three residents around 4 a.m. Monday at the front yard of a home just outside Conyers and tried to rob them, the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office said.
One of the would-be robbers took out a gun and fired shots at them before one of the residents returned fire, authorities said.
"The victims of the attempted robbery were all uninjured, but the three attempted robbery suspects were all shot during the exchange of gunfire and succumbed to their injuries, one on scene and two at a local hospital after being transported," the sheriff's department said in a news release.

Good job.

As career choices go, these three should have probably taken a look at a trade school....

They probably graduated from the Meths'R'Us school of home invasions.

Sad 3 teens lost their lives. Glad the homeowners defended themselves. I am also sad that those homeowners had to kill these kids; I have a friend who killed someone else and you can tell it impacts them.

Folks, raise your kids right.

From the info in the article I read (CNN), it was justifiable.

The teens were stupid and paid the price. And now the homeowner will have to live with taking their lives...justified or not, I think that would be a tough thing to deal with, I hope he finds peace.

This poor guy is now stuck having to go to innumerable coroner's hearing & inquests. Blameless, yes. Accountable, no.

These 3 kids at least won the Darwin Award, posthumously.

It's sad. My uncle, when he was around the same age, robbed someone for 5 bucks. He did 2 years in jail. These kids are dead; the difference? My uncle didn't have a gun and neither did the person he robbed.

Tragically 3 kids lose their lives, and so does a homeowner defending himself. His life is forever changed because these three kids were not raised appropriately, were not controlled, and didn't have the common courtesy to treat their fellow citizens with dignity.

3 masked robbers, armed...throwing shots.
"One neighbor heard someone asking for help, he told CNN affiliate WSB.
"I heard a guy yelling for help. 'Help me, help me, I'm dying, I'm dying, help me, help me," Brian Jenkins told the station.
Another neighbor ran out to help after he heard what sounded like five shots from a handgun, he said.
"Then I heard somebody have an assault rifle," Carlos Watson told WSB. "And it was a slew of shots that came out."

So the next time some ****wit says "you dont need an AR" just politely invite them to go **** off.

Of course...I reckon they could have just followed Joe Bidens advice to Jill.

Seems like a good shoot to me, with the limited info

three masked people on the owners property and they fired first

Glad the homeowner is all good, sad about the teens loss of life obviously somebody failed at raising them right or they had problems.

Hopefully, the homeowner can compartmentalize the killing of 3 teens and it not give him additional problems

Explain the accountable claim, please. I might have misinterpreted your position and rather than do that in a post, I'd like a more detailed explanation

Kind of weird that anyone would be just hanging out in their front yard at 4 am though.
on paper, i agree but I have 2 neighbors that do this. One is simply older and retired and he is on his porch before the sun come up like every day

the other simply has a pet that he obviously loves more than life itself! lol Ive asked him about it, he walks the dog ANYTIME the dog wants whether he is sleep or not . . to each thier own i guess

It doesn’t mention anything about anyone walking a dog or preparing to go to work or anything. Just says hanging out. And not just one person but multiple people. Whom just happen to have a rifle immediately handy. There’s something kind of odd about this story.

1.) uuuhm i didnt say it did, nor would i ever expect that to be part of the article, i simply pointed to 2 examples of why its not so weird and that remains true.
2.) well that has the potential to be weird for sure but without details, i can't decide. I know a few people that keep a gun right by their door or immediately in the closet right by the door.
3.) you maybe right but until we have more it didnt really stick out that weird to me besides the what an avg home robbery attempt would. . . maybe they heard rumors they were going to be robbed?

1. I am so glad that the victim was unharmed. It must have been a terrifying experience. Thankfully, he was prepared.

2. Those three bad actors will never again terrorize good people.

3. If I had my druthers, the victim would be officially commended for his action.

Or maybe they were expecting trouble for some reason or another? Don’t know. Have to hear more about it,

*clink* a toast to 3 more thugs being sent 6ft under.

Huh...hate to say it but I wonder if there IS more to this story. It will be interesting to see what comes of it.

This apparently is a sign posted out front of the property in question or involved in this shooting here.

That's interesting.

That's interesting.

not really "IF" the rest of the story is true . . . they were masked, they entered the property, they shot first . . .

its shows the owner might be a weirdo but I would only find that interesting if the dead person(s) was somebody, unarmed looking for help whos car broke down a mile down the road . . sadly those cases exist :(

Might also be interesting if one or two kids were shot off property while moving away from it.

That COULD be a problem i agree 100%

but if there was lots gun fire and a lack of ability to determine clear retreat vs getting shelter to retaliate that muddys the water pretty quick . .

seems there was an actual gun fight (multiple shots multiple guns)

so shooting somebody ARMED in the back after they shoot first and shot multiple times wouldnt be such a clear cut or wrong doing, nor would shooting an unarmed person if one ws unarmed and there other two were . . . its not really reasonable for the avg person to be able to determine those things mid attack so some grey area would be created . . . again IF thats what happened
