Trump approval drops by 6 points, 6 in 10 call a recession likely: POLL - ABC News

Six in 10 Americans say a recession is likely in the next year and as many are concerned about higher prices because of the trade war with China, helping to knock 6 points off President Donald Trump’s job approval rating in the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll.

Trump fell from a career-high 44% approval in July to 38% now, a point off his career average, with 56% disapproving. His average rating since taking office remains the lowest on record for any modern president at a comparable point in his term, and he is the first never to have achieved majority approval.

Now I feel even better about putting my extra cash into gold & silver.

The folding money in your pocket or wallet is worth less today than it was last night. A 1964 dime, worth ten cents at the time, is 90% silver & is worth $1.40 today. A $5 roll of dimes in 1964 is worth $71 today.

I have a difficult time believing there is still 38% approval.

Some of that is people who would say "strongly approve" just because they know how awful he is and thus how low his numbers are with the rest of the nation.

"I'm not really comfortable with him, but it's my duty to help pull up his numbers."

Given the nature of most of his supporters - I really don't have a hard time believing that they stick with him. They truly are deplorable.

yet there are no signs of an economic recession. so I guess that is the new leftist attack angle. to talk the country into a recession.
wow hurt working people to hurt trump that is a new low.

I don't. Dick Cheney had an approval rating of the high 20% in 2007. There are some true believers who will stay on to the bitter end claiming that he was never given a fair chance and blaming the swamp, Hillary, atheists, and the supposed deep state.

The fact that even 38% approve of trump deeply saddens me.

yet there are no signs of an economic recession. ...

^False statement.

No, I'm not going to go find the links to show the headlines which you've probably seen but have conveniently forgotten.

Maybe someone else will play that with you.

as much as i want the idiot clown to lose, i hope that it happens without a recession. i've already been through one Republican economic collapse as a working adult, and it was not fun.

*sigh* headlines mean squat.

If you look at actual economic indicators there is no indication of a recession.
i know you don't want to play with facts because facts get in your way.

Customer optimism is high.
The economic numbers are continuing to defy the recession hype
By multiple measures, the U.S. is staying ahead of the global slowdown, the trade war with China and the bond market’s implication that the decade-long recovery after the financial crisis is coming to a close.

The Citi Economic Surprise Index, after nearing its lowest level in two years in June, this week was at its highest point since February. The index looks at actual economic readings against consensus forecasts, so it will rise when expectations are too low and fall when optimism runs too strong.

In fact, Goldman sees not only stronger payroll growth but also even higher pressure on wages than the 3.2% annualized that the Labor Department reported. Hatzius said the firm’s various wage trackers put earnings growth at 3.4%, which would be the best level of a recovery that began in mid-2009

Hires outnumbered separations by 194,000 and the quits level, which measures employees who voluntarily left their jobs and is considered a yardstick for worker confidence, rose by 130,000, up 0.1 percentage point to 2.4%.

“Just about every labor market indicator that’s come out before and after the weak payroll number on Friday suggests the labor market is doing great,” Yardeni said. “There’s no recession.”

So play with actual facts not headlines. You will do much better and no what i said wasn't a false statement it was true.
i know i know you and the leftist media and the other leftist out there want working people to suffer in a recession in order to
try and get rid of trump and there has been a 2 week blitz in the leftist media to try and support the whole recession fake news to
drive the country into one but the economy is defying your rhetoric nonsense.

have you ever heard there is more than one indicator to a recession?

you mean democrats economic collapse caused by allowing for bad lending practices and allowing fanny and freddie to knowingly bundle and sell those bad loans to investment banks.
history revisionism is not your strong suit.

also if there is a recession it will not be due to trumps policy but just a natural market correction that occurred.
good thing is the economy is still showing strong numbers and strong signs.

"I'm not really comfortable with him, but it's my duty to help pull up his numbers."

Actually, I have no problem saying I strongly approve. In fact there isnt a single policy he has pursued that I disagree with.

i'm not the one revising history. this is the one projection from you that i will respond to in this thread.

In what way am I deplorable? You know nothing about me or any other Trump supporter.

no projection it is fact. democrats were in charge of congress. they were the ones that had oversite of Freddie and Fanny and the ones that allowed
the lending practices to be set.

Access Denied
no projection facts. we know you don't like facts that has been established many times before.
the link works not sure why it says access denied.

Trump, Obama Approval Ratings Are Exact Same 922 Days Into Respective Presidencies

you mean he has the same support as obama did at the same point in his presidency?
must be pretty popular then.

you need to do better fact checking yourself.

In what way am I deplorable? You know nothing about me or any other Trump supporter.

Do you know how to use a dictionary? Please look up the definition of the word MOST and then contrast it with ALL.

that is all leftist can do is to slander and insult people.

What goes up must come down. The stock market is in bubble mode now. Trump has started an irrational trade war with China. Put your money into stable commodities like canned goods.

With Obama, 42% could approve of him without needing to compromise a single principle.

To have 42% strongly support Trump requires about 20% suddenly not caring about things that they pretended to be outraged about when Obama did things which were only a shadow of the transgressions Trump is brazenly committing.

Never say "there are NO signs", for absolute statements are always easy to prove wrong. There are plenty of signs of economic slowdown.
