Hundreds of Bahamians told to leave evacuation ship headed to US: report

Utter nonsense promulgated by a certain group in the US. You know not whereof you speak but I know you think you do.

^ Your's is just another progressive-fascist message for which facts are the enemy and delusional fantasy-truth displaces actual reality.

Of course the agency is now attempting to shift the blame just like the NOAA administrator trying to blame NWS meteorologists for Trump's stupid Dorian/Alabama nonsense. Seems to me that old Harry Truman would be just a bit upset with some of these administrators, laying blame on lower-level workers.

Right. I agree. No matter what happens during the Trump presidency if it's bad it's the fault of the US and if it's good it's because Obama set things up ahead of time. I know. I've been told.

What do you believe you are agreeing with? I haven't said that these stupid actions by some bureaucrats are "the fault of the US" Nope, you and many others believe certain things you read and hear in your favoured media sources, but that doesn't mean those tales are true. Not that real facts seem to matter much anymore - ideology before reality.

The absurdity of conflating progressivism with fascism says a lot about a certain segment of the US population -- and it ain't good what it is saying.

I said you're blaming Americans, not just the bureaucrats. You hate Trump so much that you immediately blame America and, by default, Americans every time something goes wrong. You're not even willing to wait to levy the blame. It's like the idiot reporter that started this **** storm who never bothered to look into WHY the people got kicked off the ship. For you people it's just axiomatic that some America (not you, of course) is to blame for whatever happened. It's sick and it's just plain hurtful to the many, MANY Americans that go to work every day and do the best they can for themselves, their families and their nation.

NO, you did not say I was blaming Americans -- YOUR Words

The reporter did look into why the refugees were told to leave the ship and you and others continue to deny the facts.

Yeah, I do blame SOME Americans for racism and ignorance as they support the man who is possibly the worst President the country has seen. I do blame SOME Americans for their willingness to believe the daily propaganda coming from the present administration.

I DO NOT blame ALL AMERICANS for the actions of SOME. Poor poor people who feel like they are being discriminated against when problems with our society are pointed out. I believe we have another thread about a Thomas Sowell comment regarding those who once received preferential treatment seeing equal treatment as discrimination against them.

All able bodied persons should be ready and willing to organize and help with the cleanup and restoration instead of leaving. Chances are the places that were devastated not just their homes demolished but their places of employment as well. While the government with the assistant of the U.S., others, and countless number of private organizations provides them with temporary shelter, food, medical, etc. they should be organizing in groups where they live to help with the recovery. As of yesterday there were still dead bodies among the rubble. Only the sick, disabled, frail elderly should be allowed to leave at this time. There should be makeshift daycares for those with children and makeshift schools for the youth allowing every able bodied man and woman to work toward the recovery.

Hundreds of Bahamians told to leave evacuation ship headed to US: report | TheHill

Hundreds of Bahamians attempting to flee the devastation caused by Hurricane Dorian were reportedly told to leave a ship if they did not have a visa to enter the United States.

Video posted Sunday on Twitter by Brian Entin, a reporter for Miami-based Fox affiliate WSVN, showed an announcement being made aboard the Balearia ferry, which was transporting evacuees from the Bahamas to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., saying visas are required for everyone on board attempting to enter the U.S.

These people have nothing but a pile of s***t for a homeland & CBP sticks this to them? I guess this will have to be rewritten: Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door! The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation, Inc.

We didn't write that, anyway. :lamo

I don't do paywalled stories but if the WaPo is talking about this video then Trump actually said the SAME THING that Silva did in the article I referenced earlier. Trump added some stuff about gang members and stuff but he detailed the same exact process that Silva mentioned.

That's the one, and it's not so much what he's saying, but rather that it's the third version of the story we've had since the weekend on U.S. Bahama refugee policy, with the head of the CBP and POTUS disagreeing within a few hours of each other, and neither one actually supporting what the ferry folks were told.

Plenty of area on the Bahama's that was not devastated that they can be cared for at... no need to bring them to the USA>

Might as well try it out for a couple hours, but that would be the fourth policy we'd hear on the Bahama refugees since the weekend.

There, I fixed it. Bahamians can come to the mainland now.

Well, I guess this proves we're not a Christian nation, anymore.

It begs the question, does anyone on the right have any compassion or humanity left in their sorry ass souls?

Most of the Bahamas suffered little damage from Dorian. Let the displaced Bahamians find shelter in Nassau, NOT IN THE UNITED STATES!
There is plenty of area that was not affected. Let them just be relocated there and the costs need to be taken care of by the British
Commonwealth, since this is THEIR territory.

Thank President Trump for nipping this in the bud. Somehow temporary status always turns into permanent.

People from the Bahamas who are already in the United States will not be given special visas to let them stay
until their prosperous island nation recovers from the storm, says a CNN report.
