NOAA staff warned on Sept. 1 against contradicting Trump

She comes across as someone who likely flipped a gasket at any slights with the Obamas and that includes Michelle trying to poison kids with healthy lunches or her choice of attire.

Damn ... she only registered in 2017. It would have been fun to look up what she was saying about Michelle back in the dark days of Michelle trying to help fight the childhood obesity epidemic.

We sure are in a dark place if a black sharpie is all some have to talk about when there is record high employment, low unemployment, record low unemployment for Blacks and Hispanics... but all some can talk about is that Trump warned AL. "could' get hit by cyclonic winds."

Look at you rewriting history. How adorable. His exact tweet:

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
In addition to Florida - South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama, will most likely be hit (much) harder than anticipated. Looking like one of the largest hurricanes ever. Already category 5. BE CAREFUL! GOD BLESS EVERYONE!

Are we now going to try and redefine the words "most likely" to mean "could" in Trumpland?

:failpail: ; splitting hairs logic fail.

Glad I could help. :)

Splitting hairs? See if you're woman enough to answer this.

You turn on the news to see a report that a wildfire is east of you. Would you rather hear your home is most likely going to be in the path of the fire, or could be? Common sense tells me 99.9 or higher would rather hear could be over most likely. And they'd react accordingly. With likely hit they'd start gathering papers, medications, pet carriers, making decisions on livestock if they have any. They'd be packing vehicles to get out with what they could and hope for the best.

If that same broadcast said could be in the path then yes a person would take notice. They'd start thinking where stuff is, what medication might be needed, make sure the pet carriers are easily accessed. Check if there are place to take larger animals if need be. At best they'll go fill their gas tanks.

So tell us, do you want to hear your house is most likely in that path, or could be?

It would be non stop entertainment I'm sure.

Yes, that is now the adopted role of the NOAA. Redefining words to try to turn Trump's irresponsible dishonesty into truth.

Not to mention that we apparently shall have to redefine what "(much) harder" "than anticipated" means. Seeing as though nothing 'hard' was ever being 'anticipated' for Alabama at all much less even being 'hit' at all.

You'd think that we are talking about her husband or something. It's very weird.

Also, it wasn't even close to "Looking like one of the largest hurricanes ever." It only covered ~1/9th the area of Sandy.

“only stick with official National Hurricane Center forecasts if questions arise from some national level social media posts which hit the news this afternoon.”
They were also told not to “provide any opinion,”

This is a conspiracy? You're kidding, right?

SharpieGate. The horror:shock:

Horror?

Nope. I find your boys antics hilarious.

But not as much as your sincere support of and defense of every single thing he does.

Obama lost me over his milquetoast negotiating styla and the drone program.

Trump could molest your kids and you'd defend him to the death. All y'all.

I've always known there are professionals here. I'm seriously hoping y'all are just drawing a check and not just lickspittle dogs.

Too much faux outrage...
Russia, Racism, Recession, SharpieGate

You know, if ANY of you came out with as little as a "dork" when trump acts like a dork this wouldn't happen.

What is maddening is the lockstep sycophancy from yall regardless of how obviously dorky whatever he did was.

Hell, sharpiegate would have died immediately had he just admitted his mistake. I wouldn't have judged him ill for admitting he made a mistake in an area where he has no expertise. None of us know everything.

But I absolutely will continue to point out that a real man admits his mistakes and tries not to make them again. A real man does NOT adamantly refuse to do so.

That's not SICK at all...

Yes we are in a dark place, a very dark place thanks to Donald Trump. This entire debacle with the sharpie was created by Trump. He could have put an end to this whole mess without protracted it for five minutes longer with three simple words. "I was mistaken", then moved on. For the majority of human beings, acknowledging a mistake is the only way to end any further discussions or debates on the topic. But Trump absolutely cannot admit he made a mistake, even if it was a perfectly understandable one.

This is the dark place:

Trump Has Figured Out How to Corrupt the Entire Government

If you think the only scandal happening is related to a black Sharpie then you aren’t paying attention.

Obama had record high minority employment, too. Highly doubt you were talking about it then.

If this had been just an isolated event then it would seem redundant to still be talking about this. But this is all on Trump who went to the length of taking a marker to a weather forecast just to try and save face.

This farce has blown up in his face and reveals what a fragile ego he has.

Just look at his personal appearance. His fragile ego exhibits the signs of fearing the aging process with his poorly dyed hair and whatever that is on his face. The man is a train wreck waiting to happen.

This portion of the article is something I heard yesterday, but not much is mentioned of this on the news. I personally believe this is a direct violation of our Constitution and hope Congress investigates this. How much more clear can it be than this that he is a rogue president working with foreign agents? I believe that Trump himself is a foreign agent. Either that or he's just simply a narcissistic idiot that cares nothing at all about this country. It's not 'party over politics' in his case, it's Trump over everything and everyone. Trump is actively soliciting help from a foreign government to interfere in our US election in 2020. How can anyone on the right make this appear to be inconsequential or benign in any way?

[snip]Also on Friday, the Washington Post editorial page reported an explosive new development in Trump’s Ukraine scandal. The president has sent Rudy Giuliani to Ukraine to pressure its government to supply evidence of misconduct by Joe Biden – even though there isn’t any sign Biden has done anything wrong. Here is another field where, by conscripting foreign countries to rough up domestic political rivals, Trump has broken new ground.

But Trump is not relying solely on Giuliani’s efforts at persuasion. Trump has refused to allow Ukraine’s president a White House visit, and suspended $250 million in military aid, to pressure its government into complying. To be sure, weakening Ukraine’s military dovetails neatly with Trump’s pro-Russian stance. But the Post reports that Trump is using the aid, which enjoys bipartisan support, as an extortion device.

That last part is worthy of a thread of its own.

I don't think that Trump cares whether he gets good press or bad, as long as the attention is all on him, that's required to feed the beast that resides in his ego, the 'id'.

"According to Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory of personality, the id is the personality component made up of unconscious psychic energy that works to satisfy basic urges, needs, and desires. The id operates based on the pleasure principle, which demands immediate gratification of needs."
