NOAA Contradicts Weather Service, Backs Trump On Hurricane Threat In Alabama

Really? So you trust the word of the NOAA when it says there's going to be a climate apocalypse, but when it agrees with the president, you call them liars?
Yes, because we have all seen the models and we know what this supposed NOAA statement (which is unsigned and does not appear on their website, last I heard) is false.

It's amazing how people refuse to consider evidence when deciding what to believe. The President said something wrong. It probably wasn't even a lie, he probably was just confused (or, more likely, ignorant). But his absolute refusal to simply admit he was wrong has led him down a path of childishness even elementary students would mock.

I mean, for God's sake, the man had to draw with a Sharpie because he couldn't find a map to support what he said. Trump is obviously mentally ill and does not need to be President.

Some up and down as we go along month to month seems hardly alarming.

I would think that the media would be calling out this jobs report rather than the pointless sharpie thing. It seems a puzzling editorial choice to me.

A fair question is whether the NOAA statement came from a career specialist or a trump appointee. If it’s the latter, then that settles the matter.

Except it's not true and former NOAA leadership is calling bull on this.

Bottom line, I really don't give a **** about what Trump said regarding hurricanes and I don't really give a **** if he holds up a map that isn't accurate. Who the **** cares? Oh yeah, the left care because they couldn't get Trump for Russian collusion or obstruction of justice so now they come up with hurricane mapgate. That should be enough to impeach him over.

It’s bad enough that the President has no credibility. Now we can’t trust the government when they tell us the weather in case the truth makes the president look stupid.

From David Titley, the former chief of the NOAA:

“Perhaps the darkest day ever for NOAA leadership. Don’t know how they will ever look their workforce in the eye again. Moral cowardice.”

And the Goebbels Media eats crow once again.

Hard to avoid the fact that no one put their name on this document because its BS. Again, very sad that government agencies are being forced to bend to the whims of a president who is, quite frankly, an idiot.

I suspect that the people of Alabama, and anywhere else, would like to know accurate information as to the dangers they face. If you can't rely on your leader to provide it, what good is he?

I regret that you do not care about the truth. I care about the truth so I will continue talking about this. And every single time Trump lies I will call him out on it. And every single time a Trump supporter lies in support of Trump's lies I will call them out on that too. Why? Lying is wrong. Lying is bad. If everyone is lying our society will fall apart. Trump's behavior is corrosive. The truth is more important than your favorite political policies.

From George Orwell's 1984:

"In the end the Party would announce that two and two made five, and you would have to believe it. It was inevitable that they should make that claim sooner or later: the logic of their position demanded it ... And what was terrifying was not that they would kill you for thinking otherwise, but that they might be right. For, after all, how do we know that two and two make four? Or that the force of gravity works? Or that the past is unchangeable? If both the past and the external world exist only in the mind, and if the mind itself is controllable…what then?"

:screwy

The indoctrinated must remain on attack until orders are received to stand down and await the next round of propaganda click bait created for them.

That's a weird way of saying we'll point this stupid out until the next stupid comes in a couple of days.

It's your side that will 24hrs to come up with why it isn't a flaw it's a feature.

Anyone familiar with Alabama's coast knows how vulnerable it is to flooding; Trump was right.

Sharpiegate?

King of the Nothing Burgers.

Liberals?

Completely, dangerously insane.

:hm

He was right based on data days old.

He was NOT right when he said it.

This is his condition. Nothing more.

The man is ignorant. More so than most adults I know.

But his ego requires him to NEVER be wrong.

It really is as simple as that

“The surprise announcement in an unsigned statement by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration...”

:2razz:

Was it written in Sharpie? Was "NOAA" spelled right?

With this being such a tempest in a teapot, one has to wonder what other, and probably far more important and / or significant, news item is being overshadowed?

Nuclear test in NK?

Climate models are not evidence. They are computer projections that are dependent on what you input into them. Trump running a marker along a chart is the exact same thing, except he does it by hand.

A fair question is whether the NOAA statement came from a career specialist or a trump appointee. If it’s the latter, then that settles the matter.

The NOAA has always been political and are subjected to agendas. This hasnt changed.

A plane with Trump on it landed somewhere.

Liberals are losing their minds over it.

Actually, we're mad because he said it landed where it didn't and it was important business but actually it was to play a round of golf.

Details, man, details.

It's truly amazing how many times Trump has said something that often seems a little bit out there and then is proven correct at a later time.

"Proven" after a 24hr delay.

Don't forget that

Really? So you trust the word of the NOAA when it says there's going to be a climate apocalypse, but when it agrees with the president, you call them liars?

Everybody in hurricane country who has watched a track to see if their home was in danger knows he was mistaken.

Someone in Alabama who spent a lot of money on plywood because they listened to trump would be justifiably upset.

Everybody in hurricane country who has watched a track to see if their home was in danger knows he was mistaken.

Yep and the change by NOAA show how far Trumps corruption of facts has reached.
And Trump supporters just keep on drinking the kool aid.
Many would not know the truth if it upped and bit them on the ass.

Though more will come out after he is gone in 2020.
Then followed by those that write tell all books

Union chief says National Weather workers 'irate' after NOAA backs Trump's Alabama hurricane forecast | TheHill

The head of a national union says federal workers are "shocked, stunned and irate" over the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) siding with President Trump over its own National Weather Service (NWS) regarding the reach of Hurricane Dorian.

Dan Sobien, who heads the National Weather Service Employees Organization representing thousands of employees working under NOAA, told The Daily Beast in an interview on Friday that “never ever before has their management thrown them under the bus like this.”
