When a person does not admit to their mistake, you are "offended"? WTF?
Sure, it's cowardly, displays a lack of integrity.
I am still trying to figure out how what he did was wrong. He says, accurately, that early on that certain models strongly suggested that Alabama might get hit.
You're already misstating the facts. He said on Sunday: "In addition to Florida - South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and
Alabama, will most likely be hit (much) harder than anticipated. Looking like one of the largest hurricanes ever. Already category 5. BE CAREFUL! GOD BLESS EVERYONE!"
He wasn't talking about earlier models. On Sunday no one cared what models predicted 5 days prior. Your narrative is the dishonest one pushed by Trump and his lemmings.
The weather service comes out and say it is wrong. Trump then comes back with an altered map but there has to be more to it. It looks like he is trying to justify his claim that was accurate that early models showed the Alabama was going to get hit, not that he is trying to say that they are still predicted to get hit. "the National Hurricane Center was reporting at this time that parts of Alabama only had a 5% to 10% chance of getting tropical storm level winds." Trump CLEARLY states that the storm took a different route up Florida instead and that is where this issue starts. People start attacking him about Alabama for some stupid reason.
You're misstating Trump's claim, moving the goal posts....
Then the "the NWS’s parent organization, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), also weighed in, disputing the earlier tweet and siding with the President." further confusing the issue...
Right, Sec. Ross said he's fire the political staff if they didn't throw the AL NWS under the bus, so the political hacks did that, and put the agency in a turmoil. Thanks Wilbur!!

So I know that there are Raging Anti-Trump Hard-ons across the world and Trump certainly did not help himself with being unclear about the sharpie map (which he did not actually say anything about - the sharpie bulge) but it is pretty clear that he is not lying...
As I've said it's possible Trump is just dumb as a box of rocks and has worthless sycophants for aides. The other option is lying because a map from Thursday to back up a claim he made Sunday is obviously dishonest, a lie because it was prepared in advance. So take your pick - dumb as a box of rocks and surrounded by sycophants or liar.
OK, why does it matter who marked up the map that was dishonest to begin with (being 4 days out of date)? Trump presented it. The buck stops with him, not that poor aide sitting next to him.
Holy Hell... the accusations. I am debating what was said, not who said it.

But he did not discuss the sharpie bulge at all and the actual map was from the National Hurricane Center (or whatever the name is).
Doesn't matter. It was altered to bring AL into the Hurricane's path, so it looks like he was correct on Sunday. He wasn't, and presenting a map, altered or not, from Thursday to back up a warning on Sunday is either dishonest, or painfully, shockingly stupid and incompetent.
I think that is part of the problem...
Well, it's a possibility but even then the buck should stop at the desk of the guy in charge. If he's that dumb, then please, please, Pres. Trump, next hurricane just go find a golf course for a few days, turn off your phone, and get the hell out of the way of the experts.
Frankly the worst part of the incident was Sec. Ross forcing the NOAA political hacks at the threat of firing to throw their weather people under the bus. It's an abuse of power, and all to protect the fragile ego of an incompetent ignoramus in the WH.
