Trump admin to allow longer detention of migrant families

I don't care about Obama. Obama is not president any longer.

You don’t care about the rate of asylum petition denial in the context of a larger trend that completely undermines your insinuations? I’m shocked!

I agree, if there is no hearing scheduled then WTF are they being held for? Holding someone 40 days instead of 20 days and then releasing them pending a hearing scheduled in 400 days makes no sense at all.

It gets better. Some of the intact families are getting Immigration A#'s and being sent to other states as far away as Oregon and Maine and are not being admitted or paroled into the country. So in essence their A#'s are not yet activated.
They are sent to State A and yet their paperwork says that the whole family must be in State B (usually several states away) every first Tues of the month.
The administration is making it nearly impossible for these families to adhere to the rules set forth, so that they can then deny them Asylum status, or even allow them to become PRUCOLs in pending status. Which means they can't ever get their Employment Authorizations.
All nasty parlor tricks, that are working.

I don’t think you would be asking that question of you were familiar with the trends. Hint: Obama.

Well, something has to be done to address the 300% increase in families being detained as a result of the invitation these illegal aliens are responding to from the New Democratic Party and most of it's Presidential Candidates.

Right. Because none of them are fleeing countries that are war-torn, or fleeing oppression and possible death by their governments or militias in the areas they live. They are all getting emails from Democrats begging them to come.
Be disingenuous elsewhere.

My insinuations are not being undermined, at all. Anyone with half a brain can look up the absolutely vicious violence happening south o the border.

Except the vast majority of asylum petitions are denied so the real reason they’re coming here isn’t one of the above.

Except that isn't really what is going on. Asylum applications are denied for multiple reasons. Mainly not following the rules set up by the government. Many of whom get denied because they are living in one state and their court dates are in another.
Missing an appointment is grounds for denial. Also, most applications are not awarded until years after initial application. That is why at their 150th day pending Asylum, they can apply for their Employment Authorization documents. Once they have those they can apply for their Social Security Numbers and find employment. Then they go to work, and earn money and are taxed on that income, and then threatened to be sent home for what amounts to a clerical error.
But by all means keep demonizing these people.

What happened to the deportations?

I'm sure some are. At the current rate, about 1 in 5 or so.

The rest are just answering the invitation from the New Democratic Party, and hoping to find people gullible enough to feel sorry for them.

I guess your choice in news hasn't touched on the massive backlog in processing that occurs when 1,000,000 storm the border and make up stories about the troubles they helped create in the countries they came from.

I say hold them as long as is needed to determine if they are eligible for political refugee status.

I will never support "catch-and-release" the families into the country with a BS summons to appear that get tossed in the nearest dumpster,
