Obviously you have never had to deal with a payroll for a unionized company.

"Paid time offs" can come in many varieties but the majority of them involve the worker "banking time" because they have worked in excess of the normal 40 hour work week. True, some are negotiated employee benefits and some are statutory, but the vast majority are "worker earned".

If the company spokesperson had said they could "take" a PTO, you'd have a point, but he didn't, he said they'd "receive" a PTO. That tells me it was given in addition to.

But what it amounts to then is...if you DID attend, you got paid. Period.

They paid people to attend.

It is pathetic the way Trump melts down when pictures show lower attendence than he claims.
It's even more pathetic how Trump cries and whines like a child when he is busted for inflating attendence numbers.
Trump has the mentality and maturity of a young child.

The "it's okay if Trump is doing it even though we would howl if Obama did it -- and we'll claim Obama did it even though he didn't" troop will likely be by soon to point out that you could get paid even if you didn't attend.

But you got paid MORE if you attended. Because if you attended the illegal campaign rally you still got your overtime. If you took a pass on being part of Trump's illegal photo op, you could use up a day of your vacation pay but lost out on overtime.

So. pray tell, how do you characterize it?

No matter how you slice it....it looks like Shell management trying to fill the seats for Dear Leader in order to gain favor with Dear Leader.

It is common knowledge that Dear Leader likes to brag about his crowd size. He has looked like an ass on numerous occasions by overestimating the numbers of people who attend his rallies. The way he brags about it seems like a penis measuring contest and he has to artificially inflate his size to appear like he won.

Hell he is so twisted with this notion of crowd size...he even brought it up on the visit to El Paso after the massacre at Wal-Mark. Ewww.

Lursa, I told you so.

We're not supposed to notice that people who attended the illegal campaign event were paid substantially more that week than those who were forced to use up a paid vacation day in order to try to stretch their paychecks after they refused to be part of the Trump's illegal event.

They would be livid if people who refused to be part of an Obama photo op lost their promised overtime. But since it's Cheetolini who is responsible, they're hugging tight to the fact that conscientious objectors could still draw SOME pay. Just not as much as the people who were willing to be props for Trump.
