The A-10 will get blasted out of the sky by a modern IADS.

That's completely wrong. Multiple pilots have all praised the F-35, and it is much more survivable against a modern IADS than an A-10.
the RAF says differently ... having to reapply stealth coating after every flight as by the end of the flight the coating loses it's effectiveness .... it's a known problem of the programme

The f-35 is the result of lockheed having a monopoly on the jet fighters, during the cold war such a program would have been competitive, with vendors lining up with their bids, post cold war most of them either went out of business, got bought out or just left the military contract business. As of now in terms of new aircraft lockheed is unnapposed, and has no reason to produce quality anything since even boeing stopped bidding for military contracts. The airforce needs to go back to doing it;s own designs as does the army and the marines, because when contractors diminish, the existing ones hold monopolies and charge a firtune while never delivering on their promises knowing the govt has no where else to turn.

Had boeing won the contract in the 90's the f-35 program may have been leaps and bounds ahead, but boeing today does not bid anymore, and only bids to service existing contracts for their aircraft already in use by the military. Douglas and many others went the way of the donosaur after the cold war ended.
