Hong Kong showing the world how it's done...

HONG KONG — Hong Kong’s airport came to a near halt on Monday, with more than 150 flights canceled after thousands of demonstrators flooded one of the world’s busiest transportation hubs in a show of anger over the police’s response to protests the night before.

The airport said in an afternoon statement that all flights had been canceled for the rest of the day other than those already en route to Hong Kong. Almost 150 departures and more than two dozen arrivals were affected, according to the airport’s website.

This isn’t over yet!

China has to be enjoying this.

Those in need medically will have many fresh body parts to choose from before this is all over...

Sounds like protesters are daring the PLA to move in and restore order. Reminds me of the 60's here. Where protest leaders hoped the cops would to nuts and break college kids heads with their batons. In Hong Kong the results will likely be more deadly.

Two posts hoping for a civil war that would lead to violence and death. wow...

Heads will be opened, but not in public.

People will be peacefully arrested now, and become organ donors later.

I have no idea what you're talking about, and that would seem to make two of us. :)

That's right. China will gradually squeeze HK into what shape they want over the next 100 yrs.

If by 100 you mean 1 if necessary, then yes.

I'll bet my Social Credit Score on it.

Sadly you are probably correct.

China is probably seeking excuses to short-cut the Hong Cong 'independence' period. It's my guess that the Crown Colony will be absorbed sooner than later. Cities such as Vancouver should soon experience an influx of Chinese seeking a place to live. Realtors take note.

I foresee rather tragic results for any number of protesters, but I suppose we'll see.

China will likely allow it to slowly burn out.

Arrest a number of protesters each day, gather information about who and how it is being organized then go after the leaders and people footing the bill.

The protesters are more than likely protesting about economic issues than political ones. The living standards in Hong Kong have gone down hill over the years as property values have shot up. The young can not hope to buy a flat in Hong Kong, while those in Shenzhen of the same age have better living standards, and better prospects for jobs. The slow burn will reduce the energy, hurt the HK economy, causing those in the mainland to see the negatives of protesting.

OK. One to one-hundred. China will take however long it takes, but move-in when they believe they must against an upstart over which they have the right of ultimate control and about which no country in it's right mind would do anything serious. What's the US going to do? Slap-on tariffs?
