It's almost like the prison was trying to create suspicion over Epstein's death.

Jeffrey Epstein's cell was not regularly monitored the night he is believed to have killed himself, a source with knowledge of the accused sex trafficker's time at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York said Sunday.

Epstein, 66, was in the special housing unit in a cell by himself when he was found dead early Saturday. He initially had a cellmate, but that person was removed for reasons unknown, the source said.

It's protocol for inmates coming off suicide watch not to be placed alone in a cell, according to the source.

Protocol within the federal detention center's Special Housing Unit is for guards to check on inmates every 30 minutes. If the inmates appear to be asleep, protocol states guards should make sure they're OK, the source added.

The longer this charade goes on the more I'm convinced that he's in witness protection. We don't even have a picture of his cell yet? It's a scam.

Well, that's an original thought. You are actually convinced that Jeffrey Epstein is alive and well and in a witness protection? I think that's something that a court has to order. That's stretching all conspiracy theories to the breaking point. There's just way too many wealthy, powerful and politically connected men involved and even one of them would have enough power and influence to want him snuffed. Imagine if they all did? Well, yes they all did.

The body swap conspiracy theory is definitely out there; a lot of it is motivated by pictures of Epstein being carried away on a stretcher not really seeming to match other photos of him.

Don't worry, in a few months we will be told of the results of the official "internal investigation" into "the matter". The report will inform us that mistakes were made, no specific individuals were at fault, procedures have been changed and that we can rest assured that it has become for less likely to happen again.
 
This guy had the goods on some of the heaviest hitting power brokers on earth.

It seems far more likely that there IS a conspiracy going on than there isn't.

I heard a report earlier today that epstein didn't try to commit suicide earlier, the guy also said epstein said he didn't know what happened but he had red marks around his neck but he didn't try to commit suicide.

I'm curious to see whether there is video?

Call me crazy but I've seen enough documentaries about 'suicides' of government employees for me to say there is more here than meets the eye.

Nobody but his victims wanted him to stay breathing. I think his little black book had hundreds of names in addition to Alan Derschowitz, Bill Richardson and Prince Andrew. People like two members of the Pritzker family—Tom and Nick—and Jenner & Block partner and former U.S. Attorney Anton Valukas. Conrad Black, the former Sun-Times proprietor convicted of fraud and pardoned in May by Donald Trump, is listed. So is Ron Burkle, the California investor who in the 1990s controlled the now-defunct Chicago supermarket chain Dominick's. A scattering of others who appeared in the book, a magazine executive, a literary agent, a fashion executive and a publicist, also said they had never met Mr. Epstein. Charles Finch, the film producer, brand builder and bon vivant, didn’t know him, either. Vanessa von Bismarck, the glamorous founder of a namesake fashion PR company? She had no idea why her name came up. Nor did Joan Juliet Buck, the former editor of French Vogue. "As far as I know, I never met Epstein,” Ms. Buck said. “I never went to any of those famous parties at the biggest house in New York City.” That’s Jeffrey Epstein, of course. See how easy it will be now for all those people listed in Epstein's little black book? All they have to say is "Jeffrey Epstein? I don't know him, never met him." Jeffrey Epstein ran a sex ring, that's evident. He ran it and thrived off it for many years, blackmailing many people who 'partook' of the delicacies he offered them. There's scores of people that would do anything, even murder to protect themselves, their families and their businesses.

Don't these prisons have security cameras over every inch of them, especially in the cell of Epstein. It stinks. How is this even a question 38 hours later? How hard can it be to piece together what happened?

Just like the Las Vegas shooting. After a few months of hearing nothing, the "official report" will say, "meh, nothing to see here".

The investigation will be nothing more than a cover-up of what really happened. 'Nope, nothing to see here, everyone can go now'.

Well, he wasn't on suicide watch. Perhaps oddly, I've never actually had a reason to look into monitoring procedures for people not on suicide watch, so I'm not sure how odd it is that he wouldn't be monitored. It takes a few minutes and I think a possible max of 20-25, to die from hanging unless it's one of the evil forms of execution where they let the guy's toes just barely touch the ground...

I'm sticking with my bet until there's actual evidence that points the other way (that is, other than suspicions): a vengeful prison official or officials took him off suicide watch with the hope that he'd attempt again. He did. And now this.

I keep seeing people speculating about elites knocking him off. It's not quite as wild as 9/11 truthering, but quite a few people would have to be involved to send in some kind of secret government (or personal) hit squad into a federal prison. And I can't imagine any such conspirators being stupid enough to try to, say, offer another inmate a commutation/pardon (again, requiring more conspirators) in order to kill him.
 
Trump should appoint a special prosecutor to this case.James Comey would be the one to investigate the Epstein matter.

Someone that worked for the FBI was on CNN earlier, he had been inside that facility many times. He said that unit where Epstein was being kept isn't very large. He said it's like the size of a small dormitory with one long hall and cells only on one side of the hall. He said there's cameras at each end so if anyone entered the cell they would be recorded entering on video.

Epstein's former cellmate Nicholas Tartaglione who was awaiting sentencing for murdering 4 cops in 2016, the one that 'saved' him from his first so-called suicide attempt, had been transferred out of Epstein's cell. Bernard Kerik who ran the Riker's Island prison in New York for six years and also served time in prison himself on felony and tax fraud charges, said that he heard earlier that there are reports that the 'cameras were not operational'. (uh-huh) He also said that since Epstein was such a high profile prisoner, he should have remained on suicide watch.

I'll predict how this is going to turn out. First off, all those hundreds of names in his little black book, none of them will admit to ever knowing him. Second, the two guards on duty will say they had just checked him 30 minutes before they found him because that's protocol, check cells every 30 minutes. Third, the cameras would have been out of commission, so there's no video. Fourth, the DOJ gets a coroner to put down cause of death as 'suicide'. Fifth, go home folks, nothing to see here.

Epstein was a predatory monster, and you all celebrate him with stupid conspiracy theories and conjectures. Don't any of you understand you perpetrate continuance of his crimes every time you post about him? You are all in collusion with him and those who will imitate him because of the notoriety you give him. Sick and disgusting.
