[W:153] Trump assaults Congressman Elijah Cummings, says his district is 'infested'

More evidence that Trump is a racist and will willingly and eagerly use racism for temporary perceived political advantage.

He is disgusting and must resign at once.

Blah, blah, blah.... :beatdeadhorse

Well ten pages later a countless number of anti trumpers and lefties went after Trump's tweets over the condition of Cummings district.
. And of course the first cry out of them is RACIST RACIST RACIST because Cummings is black.

Trumps response was from a report that aired early on Fox and Friends this morning. A Maryland resident happens to be black and is quite familiar with Baltimore. She went and videoed the crap holes in Cummings district where kids have to live in filth. Yet Cummings stood on his soapbox during a hearing railing at border patrol over not caring for the children coming across the border claiming they were living in filth. She showed him to be a hypocrite.

Watch it for yourself

Thanks for showing the proper context. Cummings is a pious, talking out of both sides, hypocrite.. Nobody was more deserving of Trump's rebuttal than Cummings. Clean your own filthy house before you throw stones at the president!

Kind of like when Trump referred to Port-au-Prince Haiti as a ****hole in everybody screamed racist....... well I've been to Port au Prince Haiti and Trump is right..... it is a ****hole! ......just calling a spade a sp

It’s rather telling that so many people are desperate to leave those ****holes BECAUSE they are ****holes...but when they have deal with the reality that they are ****holes they shriek ‘racist’ and wet themselves. Funny...none of the idiot leftist politicians that express their poutrage over those places being correctly labeled ****holes never want to do anything to actually FIX those ****holes.

Exactly.

It's a reptilian strategy -- he controls it to some degree but barely and not all the time. Sometimes it flat out controls him and sends him back into the gutter at moments when he could be building on the good press he has occasionally received. Mostly it appears to be something which has "worked" for him all his life, and with all the yes-men money can buy and a lot of unethical stooges willing to clean up after him, he has never had a comeuppance for his lazy dishonesty. He rode it all the way to the White House. He thinks he can ride it to reelection.
I'm not sure he's wrong.

If nothing else, his presidency has confirmed to me the fact that our system has flaws which must be fixed.

Maybe to a Trump hater. But then so would be dog, and cat if President Trump said them.

Yep, and no matter what he says, he can count on your support. What does thst say about you?

You have to love the leftst poutrage. Black American congressman engages. President engages black American congressman. Leftists shriek racism because the president is responding to a black American congressman.

:lamo

classic

And if you want to try to defend Cummings district as anything other than a rat infested ****hole...be my guest. Better yet...go live there.

How sad that you eagerly parrot the words of your racist leader.

Sure...like San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle which are regularly called out. However, when you are dealing with the politician representing that particular ****hole then it’s appropriate to comment on that particular ****hole.

I will bet you've never heen in any of those cities long enough to have forned an informed opinion

yes .

The Electoral College was originally supposed to stop someone like Trump from becoming president. It let us down badly. And sometimes it's hard to have faith that Trump won't worm his way to another Electoral victory.

Then I remember that he has seriously screwed over large swaths of his voters here in the midwest, so I try to be optimistic that the three improbable states he barely won in 2020 (including mine) will go back to the blue column.

Blah, blah, blah.... :beatdeadhorse

Well maybe if the object of your worship stopped saying racist things, he wouldn't get called out on it. You like his racist outbursts, what does that say about you..

How's your tiki torch holding up? Have jews replaced you?

In general, Trump attacks and deflects, instead of explaining or correcting. The attacks, rarely if ever, even make any sense. Perhaps that's why his statements are so vulnerable to charges of racism - because there is nothing fundamentally legitimate about his attacks, it's very easy to see racism or some other kind of prejudice implied.

Agree up to a point. Couple thoughts on your theory: first, I think his demonizing of immigrants, legal or not, has a clear purpose in his mind, in that it appeals or he thinks it appeals to part of his base. While he is not a student of history, his comments reflect periods and politicians in times past that recur every few generations going back to pre-Civil War Times. In every area of immigration I know of, he is making it harder on newcomers. Second, I often mention here his spreading of false information about black on white homicide from an apparently non existent group. What other than malicious intent would cause him to state that something like 80% of white homicide victims came at the hands of blacks? The FBI stats are somewhere in the area of 12%, tho I haven’t seen the source recently so I may be a bit off. But we generally kill within our own racial groups.

Given the current crop of Democratic candidates....

I miss Bush. At least he was a decent human being.

Trump is a despicable excuse for a human being.

Trump Assails Elijah Cummings, Calling His Congressional District a Rat-Infested ‘Mess’ - The New York Times

[h=1]Trump Assails Elijah Cummings, Calling His Congressional District a Rat-Infested ‘Mess’[/h]
WASHINGTON — President Trump lashed out at a leading African-American congressman on Saturday, calling him “a brutal bully” who represents a Baltimore-based district that has become a “disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess” where “no human being would want to live.”

Mr. Trump’s attack on Representative Elijah E. Cummings, a Democrat from Maryland and leading critic of the president, parroted a segment that aired earlier in the morning on “Fox & Friends.” The president suggested that the congressman was a hypocrite for criticizing conditions in migrant detention centers at the southwestern border when his own district is blighted. Mr. Trump also made a vague and unsubstantiated insinuation of corruption.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once again, Trump attacked a Black member of Congress. Let me just say, that Elijah Cummings is one of the most respected man in Washington if not the most respected man in Congress. Elijah Cummings isn't the only member of Congress that voted for impeachment, but he may be the only Chairman of a Congressional Committee to do so. It's noted that Trump didn't rail on any of the white members of Congress via Twitter.

Victor Blackwell gave an emotional response, illustrating Trump's knack for using 'ping' words such as 'infested' to appeal to his racist base. Anyone that defends this immoral, unpatriotic, morally bankrupt president is on the ugly side of history.

Humble Pi:

Assail or attack does not equate to assault, so your title threw me for a moment, but President Trump is once again race-baiting and denigrating a whole city and perhaps a whole state. He may be America's president and his office may require us to respect it but the office holder himself is a vile and craven man in his public comportment.

Cheers?
Evilroddy.

This is the most disgusting, disturbing ideological perspective I've seen displayed on this board.

You ought to be ashamed of your ****ing self.

"But we generally kill within our own racial groups."

That's because even in diverse cities, racial groups are still geographically segregated. Most people are killed by someone they know which usually means somebody local.

That 12% figure of when whites are killed by a black person(s) is about the same as the % of the black population and is how it usually tracks. That is therefor not out of proportion.

I assume you are sort of agreeing. Looked it up. Trump tweeted that it was 81% of white homicide victims who were killed by blacks. The FBI records show the number at 15%. He said 16% of whites were killed by whites. FBI puts the number at 82%. So Trump's tweet flipped the numbers. He sent a chart from the "Crime Statistics Bureau" illustrating all this. Apparently that agency doesn't exist. You can find this by Googling "Trump spreads false info on black on white homicide." It got a Pants on Fire designation from Politifact, which reproduced the chart, complete with an ominous looking gunman.
