Despite solid evidence that Donald Trump committed campaign finance fraud, the investigation into payments to keep sex with a stripper quiet was shut down recently, with no charges filed against anybody. In addition, Hope Hicks lied to Congress about her involvement in the scheme. No charges will be filed against her either.

By now it should be patently obvious that Barr will shut down every Federal investigation into Trump in order to clear his path to 2020.

The FBI believed then-candidate Donald Trump was closely involved in a scheme to hide hush-money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels, who claimed an affair with Trump, court documents from the closed campaign finance case against former Trump-fixer Michael Cohen show.

The documents, released Thursday, describe a series of calls, text messages, and emails between Cohen, Trump, Trump campaign aide Hope Hicks, Keith Davidson - an attorney for the woman, porn star Stormy Daniels - and David Pecker, an executive of the company that published the National Enquirer.

Lmao, yeah that sounds about right. Barr is a political hack. His only purpose as AG is to shield Trump and the Republican Party from the rule of law. Trumpers can continue asking the stupid question of where is the crime? I guess that's when we get to ask where is the Attorney General?

I always tell people defending Trump on this story to try the same thing with their wife, cheat on her, lie about it, and then when caught double down.. and wait and see if all your friends and relatives come running to your defense screaming fake news. None of them have went for the challenge yet

Right before Barr took over, there were some 18 or so Federal investigations into Trump and his organizations. Since he took over as AG, 100% of those investigations have ended or gone dark.

Of course they have. That's what Barr does, he is Trump's new Michael Cohen

The information is crazy! In the interest of combating claims of bias. I have collected a series of articles based on the subject. There's a lot in the files, proving that impeachment should begin immediately. Hope Hicks should be indicted.

That's the thing. They know they can't get away with it like Trump can, so they love him for it. He is their fantasy of the perfect man.

Why don't you expend more energy on, you know, nominating a better candidate for 2020 and crafting a solid, appealing platform which will play to independents and defeat him?

Every single one of your hopes -- and you cling dearly onto all of them -- to end the Trump presidency early have come to nothing.

Has it ever even occurred to you that you're simply looking in the wrong direction? That all of this effort would have been MUCH better spent defeating him politically and at the polls? As it is, all you've done is provide plenty of ammunition for him to call "witch hunt," because every single one of these things comes up bupkis. And while you're crying wolf again and again and again, you're not doing the things which could actually defeat him.

Oh, well. I guess your white whale is your white whale, and you're determined to hunt it until you don't have a ship left.

Does anyone have a link to the documents themselves? What I'm reading is essentially the same story reported on by different outlets. That leads me to believe that the current reporting is based on some kind of summary and I'd sure like to see the actual source.

The other thing that strikes me is that these documents were supposed to show the reason for the raid on Cohen's office. I haven't seen that reported anywhere. Did they really conduct a raid like that based on an accusation of campaign finance violations?

All of that is moot.

Wasn't that sort of "activity" the territory of televangelists? I guess the flock follows good examples.

All of that is moot.

It's moot? Why is that? If the FBI conducted armed raids on Cohen's office for the purpose of preventing the loss of evidence of a campaign finance violation I think that would be rather significant. It just seems kind of backward that a crime which would result in a fine as a maximum penalty would be considered cause for an armed raid.

It's moot? Why is that?

Because Bill Barr.

Bill Barr is Cardinal's latest excuse for everything he wants to happen not happening.

It's never because the case against Trump (or Kavanaugh or whoever else) just didn't hold water, despite what Cardinal's layman's sense of evidence and legal standards are. No, it's always because of nefarious, dark conspiracies.

If it wasn't Bill Barr, it would be someone or something else.

None of this stupid, baity, and hackish swill justifies Barr's attack on legitimate investigations into Trump and you know it. But you lot just have to try to muddy the water in every thread, don't you?

Play your stupid word games elsewhere.

This thread is about a Trump stooge shutting down investigations into Trump. That's why it's moot. It's mootness is why you typed it: you just want to whatabout away.

LMAO!!!!

I'm trying to "muddy" the thread by mentioning that we have yet to see the source documents.

Barr shut the investigation down? Did he give a reason?

Luther, did you think the Tarmac Meeting was problematic? If so, why? If not, why not?

I don't understand any of this. What's in it for Barr? Why is he throwing his good name and reputation away for a piece of excrement like Trump?

I'm starting to think Trump has naked pictures of Barr with a woman.
