Your post, above, is at odds with those nasty things that serious people know as "facts." They are all U.S. citizens and three of them were born in the U.S. That makes them as American as I presume you are.

But we understand your xenophobia -- which is very much like the xenophobia that existed when the Italians, Irish and other Catholics emigrated to the U.S. -- 'they're not Americans because they have funny last names and don't go to the same churches as us.'

We really believed it, we believed that our country welcomed immigrants with open arms. We believed that other cultures and other races. people suffering under political oppression, physical harm, hunger and disease, were all welcomed here. Historically, our record doesn't bear that belief out. From the beginning, our country has been selective of which group of immigrants we 'welcome with open arms'. It depended on what our needs were at that point in time. We needed men to fight for the north in the Civil War so we conscripted young men from Ireland. We needed farm workers so we allowed more from Mexico to enter. Chinese immigrants were working too cheap, so we limited their numbers from immigrating to the US. We needed to heal our conscience after the Vietnam war so immigrants from Vietnam and Cambodia were welcomed in vast numbers. Over the next five years, immigration from war-torn regions of Asia, including Vietnam and Cambodia, would more than quadruple.

In 1790, Congress passed the first law about who should be granted U.S. citizenship. The Naturalization Act of 1790 allows any free white person of “good character,” who has been living in the United States for two years or longer to apply for citizenship. Without citizenship, nonwhite residents were denied basic constitutional protections, including the right to vote, own property, or testify in court.

Racial division isn't new in the US, it just hasn't been so out in the open, no longer hidden from sight. So stop wondering, "how did this happen in this country?"

Yeah, I think McCain dying has less to do with Graham's about face in regards to Trump. I think he was pivoting that way even before McCain died. Now, though, he doesn't have his good friend to tell him what an ass he is making of himself.

Saying that Trump’s racism is disproved by improved black private employment is like saying Trump’s lack of book reading is disproved by increased attendance at American public libraries. Neither has a thing to do with the other.

Who really cares that the unemployment rate is 6% or a full 1.7% lower than Obama left the African American community with? Bet their families care. Your comparison to Mussolini shows just how radical you are as Trump has done nothing but promote America first and kept his promises to the American people who elected him. The radical left and people like you who are big gov't liberals are the true racists in this country today. What is it about liberalism that creates this kind of loyalty?
