Donald Trump: Cables from UK's Ambassador to US blast President as 'inept' - CNNPolitics

(CNN)Cables sent from the United Kingdom's Ambassador to the United States to the British Foreign Commonwealth Office (FCO) describe President Donald Trump as "inept," "insecure" and "incompetent," a UK government official confirms to CNN.
The cables were leaked to and first published by the Daily Mail.

Sir Kim Darroch, the British Ambassador to the US, used secret cables and briefing notes to warn the UK government that Trump's "career could end in disgrace," and described conflicts within the White House as "knife fights," according to the Daily Mail.

A UK government source tells CNN the memos described in the Daily Mail story are "real."

The US became the worlds leader after WW2
They also knew Allies are critical to influence and power projection
Wonder if Wiki could release any info they MAY have since Trump became President

Anyone with functioning senses has known this for at least three years....

These comments are obvious retaliation for the Brits loosing the airports during the Revolutionary War.

“This man is a pathological liar. He doesn’t know the difference between truth and lies. He lies practically every word that comes out of his mouth, and in a pattern that I think is straight out of a psychology text book, his response is to accuse everybody else of lying.”

“The man cannot tell the truth, but he combines it with being a narcissist—a narcissist at a level I don’t think this country’s ever seen. Donald Trump is such a narcissist that Barack Obama looks at him and goes, ‘Dude, what’s your problem?'”

“The man is utterly amoral. Morality does not exist for him. Donald is a bully. … Bullies come from a deep, yawning cavern of insecurity.”

US Senator Rafael Cruz, Republican, Texas.

PS. It will be interesting to hear the reaction to this come Monday from the AM radio 'conservative' talk show hosts and their call-in enablers. It stands in stark contrast to their party line.*

* The echo of the old telephone 'party line' is not accidental.

Winnie demoted Halifax from Foreign Secretary to Ambassador to the US. He had said "Churchill lies with every word that comes out of his mouth, his response is to accuse everybody else of lying.” Halifax wrote a year later "I disdain bowing to a nevueax riche cripple, inept and blustery, a bully boy, a liar and reprobate, an amoral excuse for a man, but remain quiet for the war effort," in reference to FDR.

Halifax had attempted to broker a treaty between Germany and Britain after Dunkirk, using Italy as the negotiator. Didn't gain acceptance.

Hi! Thank you for the historic look back. I'm not sure what it means as far as the thread topic goes other than such things have happened in the past.

Regards.

Comparing Churchill with Trump is a stretch. One was a brilliant man, the other is not.

We got that. No surprises. So what was the secret part?

The world sees the USA as s joke these days, because of Trump and the insane GOP.

Damn funny joke I must say. After Trump we're going to run out of political comedy. Tim Apple, Oranges, etc.. those mumbled crazy moments, it's hard even imagine what's happening in Trump's head. For me most fun is how he's bragging all the time, especially about himself "I'm very stable genius" - to talk like that you need to be truly stupid, seriously backwards. Trumpanzees think that Trump is genius because he told so?

I enjoy watching this circus, it's something really different and can't remember anything like it in our history so far. Trump is unique phenomenon, next level delusional individual.

Then again Churchill has a lot of baggage, especially with racism.

No specific correlation, only that history can judge differently than those living the experience and witnessing the words of anyone. 50 or 100 years from now, Trump may be viewed as heroic, a disaster, or inconsequential. None of us, not alive then, will ever know.

Both Churchill and FDR made their errors, issued decisions that led to millions of deaths, hardships for many, earned the virulent enmity of the their enemies, and had enemies for no other reason that they existed. They still have their detractors, but are mostly remembered well. Both esteem and disrespect are like gossamer on the winds of time.

And your point is.....what? Trump isn't a tenth of the man either FDR or Churchill were.

The ineptitude is the point. That's why he was voted into office.

None. It was all laid out. And then they made excuses, they still do.
We have those die hard supporters. Nothing cannot be trivialized, absolutely nothing what he does.
I wonder how they stomach it

Firstly to the ambassador, thank you Captain Obvious.

But this probably means a recall, as it is unlikely the ambassador can work with a head of state he doesn't respect, and vice versa. Especially in the case of trump, who shall we say, tends to hold grudges.
