Megan Rapinoe says ‘not many, if any’ US women's soccer players would attend White House

Free speech is not a license to act like an ignorant ass. You don't have to like Trump to go to the white house to acknowledge your accomplishments. You wore the USA jersey, represented the USA on the field very well and now you act like an idiot. The filth coming out of some of the players mouths is disgusting. You don't have to curse on the public stage and forget you are some type of role model to particularly young girls in sport. The lesson you teach is that you don't need to show respect for your country, your presidential office or even you own sport. Comments such as, "F n Whitehouse, "lock up you wives and daughters, we are coming for you Bit3*S, Totally classless.

Sure it is. Trump does it all the time.

Meh, the non-racists and people who refuse to support racism through the support of a blatant racist like Trump don't think of it as screwing up at all. They look at it as a positive not to support a racist.

Really, what it comes down to, is does America have more racists and people willing to support racism for political expediency than it does people who refuse to support racists and racism. Personally, I like to think there's more of the latter.

First of all I don't think Trump is racist at all. Far too many people of color who know him disagree with your idea that he is. His policies have been good for all races in the country and the only complaint you can really have is he is against open borders. The economic situation in the country is the best for all races in over 30 years and for blacks the best in history. He signed into law major criminal justice reform and got little acknowledgement from the left. Simply disagreeing with ideas of the left doesn't make anyone racist. To the left, if you oppose any of their policies you are racist, misogynist, homophobic and a host of other things. Hardly the divergence of thought and opinion they claim to have.

First of all I don't think Trump is racist at all.

Really? Well that's certainly convenient, isn't it?

The guy who led the racist Birther Movement, the movement that attacked a sitting POTUS for a decade calling him UnAmerican for no other reason than he had black skin, that movement wasn't racist?

:lamo

That team represents the entire country, not just libs and Trump haters. She truly has screwed up as a leader representing our country in women's soccer. She is now just an embarrassment. Difficult to do after winning the championship, but she did it.

Wrong. She's taking a stand against a blatant racist in Trump.

In a lot of countries, that's not seen as a negative like it is in much of the USA. In a lot of countries, that's seen as a big positive. Certainly in Canada.

Oh, I see. The Cup wasn't about the sport; it was about political virtue-signaling. Pretty appalling that you'd cast anybody as a racist who disagrees with you about turning a sporting event into a political sideshow.

Very well then.

Oh, I see. The Cup wasn't about the sport; it was about political virtue-signaling.

In my world taking a stand against a blatant racist like Trump isn't "virtue-signalling". It's the moral and principled thing to do. I suppose Canada is different in that regard?

By your logic Jesse Owens should have shaken Hitler's hand. SMH.

Pretty appalling that you'd cast anybody as a racist who disagrees with you about turning a sporting event into a political sideshow.

Don't be ridiculous. We both know Trump is a blatant racist. He led the racist Birther Movement. Surely you're not going to argue that that wasn't a racist movement?

Anytime there is a statement against a person of colors' actions or views, out comes the racist tag. Trump didn't start the birther movement he did ask that Obama show his birth certificate. Maybe not politically correct but there were a number of people who wondered. Easily fixed by showing your birth certificate and move on. That's not in of of itself racist. The problem for the left is when they have no answers or ideas they scream racist, or homophobe or misogynist of any of the long list they like. Racist don't sign into law criminal justice reforms. Racist don't employ blacks in their business. Get over it and move on to things that can help the country.

Wrong, right off the bat. Trump’s no racist, she is representing our country, and she’s proven herself to be a moron and a hater.

And, (to her) keep our flag off the ground, and get your God damn foot off of it! Show some respect for your country, idiot!

From the piece:

"To be clear, a conservative sports team shunning a Democrat White House would be just as obnoxious. One of the best qualities of sports is the capacity to cut through our ideological differences and give us something to cheer for together, irrespective of politics. Instead, we get a team that wore our nation’s flag onto the playing field that nonetheless gives the back of its hand to Americans who oppose their agenda."

Yup.

They're so bad that they lost my support - I rooted for the Netherlands team - and I didn't vote for Trump in 2016, and won't in 2020.

Loss in victory, and if it's true that they discriminated against a Christian player...

:hm

Wrong, right off the bat. Trump’s no racist,

Nonsense. He was the leader of the racist Birther Movement. He attacked a sitting POTUS for almost a decade, saying the POTUS was UnAMerican for no other reason than he had black skin.

That makes Trump a racist. If you don't believe me, look up the meaning of the word yourself.

And, (to her) keep our flag off the ground, and get your God damn foot off of it! Show some respect for your country, idiot!

Ah, I think I see the problem. You don't understand that respect has to be earned, and can't be demanded a la Trump. I believe standing up to racists deserves respect. You appear to feel differently. Is that correct?

did ask that Obama show his birth certificate. Maybe not politically correct but there were a number of people who wondered.

Yep, all the racists who wanted to find a way to attack the black candidate.

But hey, maybe I'm wrong. Please give me a list of the other POTUS candidates who were attacked as being UNAmerican, and people demanded to see their birth certificate.

Easily fixed by showing your birth certificate and move on. That's not in of of itself racist.

How many other POTUS have had to show their birth certificates? Surely Trump must have long history of demanding birth certificates from all the presidential candidates? What? It just started with the black candidate? Jesus, I wonder why? Hint: Because Trump is a racist.

Obama did show his birth certificate, but that wasn't good enough.

Trump then lied, and implied that his investigators in Hawaii had found information that would cast doubt on Obama's claim to be born in Hawaii, saying they had found some "amazing information" or somthing along those lines.

The problem for the left is when they have no answers or ideas they scream racist,

Nope, when people behave like racists, they get called racists. For example, when people demand to see the birth certificate of the black candidate, when they're never demanded to see the birth certificate of any white candidate. It exposes that they are racists.

Try spending an afternoon contemplating the whole concept. It's not that complicated.

Did the cultists get all upset when these pro athletes snubbed a Democratic President?

Tom Brady, New England Patriots
In 2015, the future hall-of-fame quarterback skipped out on meeting President Barack Obama with his teammates. The team claimed that he had a family commitment, but ESPN later discovered that he spent the day working out at Gillette Stadium.

Matt Birk, Baltimore Ravens
The Super Bowl XLVII champ turned down the opportunity to meet President Obama in 2013, citing religious differences.

A Trio of Miami Dolphins
In 2013, Obama invited the 1972 Miami Dolphins to the White House to celebrate the only team that completed an undefeated season and post-season in NFL history. But three members decided not to go for political reasons.

"We've got some real moral compass issues in Washington," center Jim Langer said. "I don't want to be in a room with those people and pretend I'm having a good time. I can't do that. If that [angers] people, so be it."

"I just don't believe in this administration at all," Dolphins guard Bob Kuechenberg said. "So I don't belong. Anyone on the left or the right has to respect one man's opinion."

Former teammate Manny Fernandez added, "I'll just say my views are diametrically opposed to the President's. Enough said. Let's leave it at that. I hope everyone enjoys the trip who goes."

Tim Thomas, Boston Bruins
The 2011 Stanley Cup winning goaltender was also an outspoken member of the Tea Party movement. So when he and his teammates were invited to meet Obama at the White House in 2012, he used to opportunity to protest all levels of U.S. government by boycotting the visit.

Mark Chmura, Green Bay Packers
The Super Bowl XXXI winning tight end couldn't make his 1997 visit with Bill Clinton because he was competing in a golf tournament that day. But he later considered the scheduling conflict serendipitous when news broke of the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

"I knew it all along," Chmura later said. "It doesn't really say much for society and the morals [Bill Clinton] sets forth for our children."

Tom Lehman, Ryder Cup Golfer
When Lehman and his golfing teammates won the Ryder Cup in 1993, he had no intentions of visiting President Clinton with them. Lehman referred to the 42nd president as a "draft-dodging baby killer."

Nonsense. He was the leader of the racist Birther Movement. He attacked a sitting POTUS for almost a decade, saying the POTUS was UnAMerican for no other reason than he had black skin.
Completely false. Don't try making crap like that up, it doesn't work with me. That's for the low information types that the left oh so counts on to exist.

Show me evidence, or maybe a quote from him saying he was doing it because of the color of his skin. Of course, it was a waste of time. He could have been born on the Moon, and he still would have been able to produce a BS saying he was born in Hawaii. But, it turned out to be a good political move for Trump. He is often a step ahead of the competition.
Ah, I think I see the problem. You don't understand that respect has to be earned, and can't be demanded a la Trump. I believe standing up to racists deserves respect. You appear to feel differently. Is that correct?
You don't seem to understand that respect for this country has been earned over centuries. And, who, exactly, was she standing up to when she stepped on our flag? Please explain that one, LOL!

You leftists call every single Republican candidate a racist. It's like a running joke.

You seem to have a very short memory. The left used to love Trump. Hobnobbing with all the big NY libs, oh you loved him for decades. Then, all of a sudden, he runs as a Republican... boom! Automatically a racist! Just so pathetically transparent.
