Although it is not generally known, Canada actually had FOUR "civil wars" (the Canadians called them "rebellions" just like the Union government called the actions of the southern states). Of course the first two of those were about as serious as barroom brawls (and accomplished about as much), the "rebels" actually won the third one (because they achieved all of their stated reasons for rebelling), and most of the leaders of the fourth have now been exonerated by the Canadian government (the latest exoneration coming about because the Canadian government has finally gotten around to admitting that if it hadn't been for that person then the "federal troops" would have been slaughtered to a man as they were ill equipped, ill trained, ill led, ill supplied, and had decided to attack a well led, well equipped, well trained, superior force that was in a highly defensible position across open ground while refusing to follow the orders of their officers and commanders).
I know, "Booooorrrrrrrriiiiiinnnnnnggggg!"
