Almost 300 migrant children removed from Texas facility described as 'appalling'

If that's all you have. Then you have my pity for parroting the same lies that have been debunked by simple reality.

I feel sorry for people having to deny reality in order to support a blatant racist like Trump. I can't imagine having to live my life like that. I can't imagine living in a country where people do that.

LOL, even the leader of his own party called him out for racist comments. But that's not reality, I suppose the evil liberals made Paul Ryan say that using their mind control powers! :lamo

I'm so thankful I'm a Canadian.

Then again, we don't see him barring aid for these children now do we?

He's used them to energize his base. Just read any thread here about the American Concentration Camps. Nearly every Trump supporter is dead set against putting Jews in Concentration Camps, but strongly favour using them to incarcerate brown skinned people. Some arguing that providing brown skinned children with proper food and hygiene is more than they deserve.

So for Trump, in terms of energizing his base, it's a big Mission Accomplished!

Exactly! You seem to agree with me 100%. That's why I propose calling the American Concentration Camps "Not as bad as the Nazi's Concentration Camps."

And that would tie in with a great new slogan for your country, check it out: "America! We're not as evil as Nazi Germany!"

Pretty good eh.

Not even close.

I too once believed in unicorns. That’s a cool story youre writing. I don’t think you’ll sell many copies though. Good luck with that though.

That’s the real pathetic aspect to this discussion.

Right wingers don’t even deny that this is a human right’s catastrophe.

Of course, blame the victims is always at the top of the list.

But they offer a range of excues. They mysteriously blame Demcrats, even though a Democratic Congress passed an Immigration REform bill years ago and Mitch McConnell has it bottled up.

Then they try to blame Democrats for not giving Trump is idiotic wall, even though it’s obvious to the entire world that Trump is trying to hold these refugees hostage over it, and equally obvious that neither he, nor his base, care about the human rights abuses being carried out in their name.

Right wingers here have tried to deny the lying and secrecy around it, too. But that hasn’t worked either.

BTW, we’ve had four DHS secreataries in two and a half years , and the post is now vacant.

“a Democratic Congress passed an Immigration REform bill years ago and Mitch McConnell has it bottled up.”

It was Trump that said if the Dem and Rep leaders could come up with an immigration reform bill, he’d sign it. They did and he didn’t. After Obama was elected, it was leader of the House Boehner that announced compromise was not in his vocabulary and McConnell that made it clear no Obama/Dem bill would pass in the Senate

“we’ve had four DHS secreataries in two and a half years , and the post is now vacant.”

We’ve had many department heads with now only acting heads, some of them doubling-up, to avoid the need of Congressional approval. Trump can put people into any administration position that way, pretty much no matter who or what they are, further eliminating Congress from its oversight duty.

Ok, what's he supposed to do?

Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

“Ok, what's he supposed to do?”

Get them blankets, soap, tooth brushes and paste, laundry/diapers, space to occupy. You know. What prisoners get.

Kinda hard when Democratic Party supporting nitwits are boycotting companies and walking out in protest of providing those goods and services.... and all that while, until just a few days ago, the Democrats in Congress have been blocking funding.

This is a Democrat created crisis, both in Washington and among their more brain dead supporters.

Personally? Should he drive it to these places himself? Come on...Nancy Pelosi could pass legislation today, and the Senate would sign on for this, if she weren't busy trying to load every bill with poison pills to harm the powers of the Presidency for political purposes...So, don't give me that it's all 'Orange man bad's' fault....Democrats share this travesty...

If the current situation were a novel, I would throw it away as being ridiculous and trite.

Obama being one of them.

Yeah, Obama detained unaccompanied minors, or minors whose guardians were found to be smuggling drugs, etc. That is totally the same as heaping a thousands of people into camps and denying them things like soap.

Frankly, if you're looking at me to defend Obama, though, you have the wrong number. He wasn't as bad as the current maniac, but he was still a corporatist.

Prove the denial was done to hurt them.

I gotta ask, what other reason could there be? I am really a captive audience, here.

You gotta be nuts to believe something like that. You need to look in a mirror for the problem.

What must be "kinda hard" is for you to come up with any factual evidence and referral to back up your assertion. The number of border crossings were the same and higher in the past but there wasn’t such a big problem with overcrowding and failing to provide detainees with the basics. That is fact. And, early in 2018 Trump promised to sign any bipartisan bill sent him. The Dems and Reps got together, as Trump asked, sent him a bill, as Trump asked, then Trump refused to sign it. As is Trump’s way. It’s Trump that made for draconian policy that put conditions where they are today. You can’t back up what you say with any factual evidence. What’s brain-dead is making claims you can’t support, and are thus unfounded and easily dismissed for lack of evidence.

Should I just end this conversation by asking you to supply citations for such claims and, just watch you run away like all of the others?

But you’re not. The reasons have been given for decades. It’s fallen on deaf ears claiming to be listening. So now we got a crisis. [emoji2369]

You’re being silly. Like I meant by my post that Trump personally distribute what is needed to the detainees. The overcrowding and a lack of necessary supplies came about under Trump and his appointees’ direction. Prior administration had been processing as many and more detainees without such a severe problem. It was Trump administration policy that directly exacerbated the situation. Trump refused to sign a bipartisan bill he asked Congress to put together and promised he would sign. Trump policy resulted in keeping detainees longer than before, instead of sending them to sponsor households as was done before, which caused overcrowding and running out of supplies meant for shorter term holding of detainees. Private detention companies are big business and make big profits by providing as little as possible to detainees, including space. Those companies are paid a per person amount that contemplates cost of facilities. So, overcrowding means bigger profits.

Pelosi and the House did pass legislation before you wrote your post, though you falsely stated otherwise. The recent legislation that Trump is “expected” to sign does very little in terms of guaranteeing that detainees will get what they need, which should include due process. The weak-kneed Dems caved. So, yeah, by giving in to the Reps, the Dems do now share in this travesty. The new legislation just means more money for the private detention company profits. We’ll have to see how this plays out.

Congress is responsible to write the legislation....All the President can do is sign, or not sign...I don't understand for the life of me, why you smarter than everyone liberals don't know basic civics.

“Congress is responsible to write the legislation....All the President can do is sign, or not sign...I don't understand for the life of me, why you smarter than everyone liberals don't know basic civics.”

There’s also basic politics and the obvious power of the POTUS. It is quite often that the president is involved with legislation because Congress doesn’t want to waste time sending a bill that they know will be rejected. There are, where politics are obvious, exceptions such as the 50+ times that the Republicans attempted to repeal the ACA that Obama repealed. They only wasted their time the once. All the other times were repeats. To say that because Congress is responsible to write legislation does not mean the president has no influence on what is written. That’s, obviously, what you “don’t understand”.

Do you believe that Congresspeople like Pelosi, and Schumer have been above board in working with the President so that legislation that could make it to law was passed?

I don't believe Dems give one **** about these kids.

Well, you're that 30% so it makes sense that you'd inflate a monstrous Alinskyite lie as apologetics.
What else is new?

Do you believe that Congresspeople like Pelosi, and Schumer have been above board in working with the President so that legislation that could make it to law was passed?

Do YOU believe Mitch McConnell (aka Trump's human shield) has been above board in working with Democrats so that legislation that could make it into law was passed?

Do you believe that Trump was above board in committing his eleventh hour 180 degree about face in the wake of Sean Hannity's taunting on the wall funding back in January 2019?
Don't forget, House and Senate BOTH had sufficient numbers to get bills passed to keep government open until Trump caved to Hannity, Limbaugh and Ingraham.

Based on those two factors, the only other possibility would be Chuck and Nancy just bending over and dropping trou and inviting rear entry with no foreplay.
I'm guessing that you might just view that as ordinary bipartisan cooperation.

After all...

"Bipartisanship ought to consist of Democrats coming around to the Republican point of view."

---Richard Mourdock

Clearly Mitch McConnell, Donald Trump and pretty much the entire Trump Republican ship of state have eclipsed even Richard Mourdock at this point in time.

that's what you people expect Republican's to do every day....

Let's analyze that. Fortunately I don't receive much compensation as the duly elected "Spokesman For My People" but I can speak for myself anyway.

Care to show us all some examples where Checkers "expects Republicans to just bend over and drop trou for rear entry with no foreplay"?

Just show me ONE example...just ONE.

I'll wait here.
