    2) Does AOC advocate doing the same for others detained (arrested?) for violating the law? We could, no doubt, save billions by simply issuing tickets (summons?) to those who are found to have violated the law and hope that they admit guilt and pay the fine (or show up in court).
Just because you aren't aware of this, I'll inform you. These children aren't being held in a HSS facility, it's run by ORR which is the Office of Refugee Resettlement. These are primarily children that were separated from their parents because the parents went to a different facility that could not accommodate children, this one was supposedly equipped to care for children. They have either a parent or parents or other family members already living in the US and they were there waiting for reunification and resettlement. In simpler words, these are not criminal children of criminal parents. They are supposed to be detained "temporarily" for no more than 72 hours in an ORR facility.

Now imagine your little boy standing up on top of a filthy toilet because he need to get air to breathe, the air was so acrid with vomit and urine that he had to do that to get some fresher air. Still feeling superior and sanctimonious now?

OK, if that facility can handle 30 occupants then what should be done with the other 270?

Is that the job of the US government to figure out? The facility is rated to hold 100, not 30. There were more than 300 there on the day the legal team visited and the facility had a week's notice of their inspection and the government had 3 weeks advance notice.

Well according to ya’ll, the party of no ideas or solutions, just let them sit in their own **** and piss, and don’t provide soap or food.

    The Cruelty Is The Point

    Trump-2016-your-feelings.jpg

Their names have mostly been lost to time. But these grinning men were someone’s brother, son, husband, father. They were human beings, people who took immense pleasure in the utter cruelty of torturing others to death—and were so proud of doing so that they posed for photographs with their handiwork, jostling to ensure they caught the eye of the lens, so that the world would know they’d been there. Their cruelty made them feel good, it made them feel proud, it made them feel happy. And it made them feel closer to one another.

Because it’s easy to show disdain for humans and a lack of sympathy for their suffering when you live life and only know the outside world on a computer in your den.

"The children have been taken to a tent detention camp also in El Paso ..."

Great. I'm sure a tent camp will be soooo much better.

How can it even be possible that the United States of America, the greatest country ever, is responsible for this horrific treatment of human beings? I know I'm getting old, but I grew up believing that we were the good guys on this planet.

In the meantime, what does this have to do with this thread?

Perhaps you try to argue that there is no reason now to treat kids with cruelty in order to stop illegal immigration?
Do you understand that the border patrol is over whelmed with illegal aliens. They detained about 144,000 in May. The system at the border is broken.
There is no more room.............. They are doing the best they can! WHY won't the democrats in the house take the necessary step to relieved this?
Because they hate Trump and think this is hurting him so they let the kids suffer.
